About This Software

ABOUT THIS GAME

Game Master is a tabletop RPG campaign, map, and session app built for creating adventures, organizing campaigns, and running games with less bookkeeping.

Build maps. Create characters. Prepare monsters and encounters. Run live sessions. Let players join over your local network.

Game Master is designed around a simple idea:

Players make the decisions and roll the dice. Game Master handles the math and bookkeeping.

Whether you play entirely digitally or use physical dice, character sheets, and miniatures, Game Master is designed to support the table instead of getting in the way.

PLAY FOR FREE

The base version of Game Master is free and is designed so players can join and participate in games without needing to purchase the creation tools.

Players can:

  • Join supported LAN sessions

  • View the live game map

  • Control their character when permitted

  • Move, search, interact, and use items

  • Participate in combat

  • Roll digital dice or use physical dice

  • Receive story messages and discoveries

  • Review previous events in the Session Log

  • Use the built-in rules reference, How to Play guide, and glossary

BUILD YOUR OWN MAPS

The Map Maker gives GMs a layered editor for building playable tabletop maps.

Create forests, towns, caves, mines, ruins, dungeons, campsites, taverns, and more using:

  • Ground

  • Terrain

  • Decorations

  • Objects

  • Logic

  • Walls and doors

  • Furniture

  • Interactive objects

  • Traps

  • Creature placement

  • Environmental effects

  • Weather

  • Indoor and outdoor areas

Test maps before using them in a live campaign.

RUN LIVE SESSIONS

Start a session and run the adventure directly from the map.

The GM can manage:

  • Exploration

  • Encounters

  • Initiative

  • Turn order

  • Combat

  • Monsters and NPCs

  • Fog of war

  • Hidden information

  • Searchable objects

  • Story messages

  • Session state

  • Player visibility

  • GM-only notes

  • Rules overrides

The GM always remains in control.

AUTOMATED RULES AND BOOKKEEPING

Game Master can handle repetitive calculations while leaving gameplay decisions with the players.

Depending on the active ruleset, Game Master can manage:

  • Roll modifiers

  • Target numbers

  • Attack results

  • Damage

  • Healing

  • Hit Points

  • Conditions

  • Initiative

  • Turn order

  • Inventory

  • Currency

  • Traps

  • Visibility

  • Session progress

Players can still roll physical dice and enter the result, or initiate digital rolls inside the app.

LOCAL NETWORK MULTIPLAYER

Host a session on your local network and let players join from supported devices.

The GM host maintains the authoritative game state while connected players receive the information they are allowed to see.

Game Master supports systems such as:

  • Player-specific information
