VR Fast & Simple is a video player for Windows PCs, compatible with Meta Quest 3. Choose the videos you want to stream in the Windows app, then open the player in your headset and press play. Your files stay on your PC.

Your headphones, independent audio

Send the video sound to headphones connected to your Windows PC while other PC audio keeps playing through its own output. Choose the player output directly in the Windows app, without changing the Windows default output.

Connect once, then enjoy your library

For the first connection, follow the address and pairing-code instructions shown in the Windows app. Open that address in Meta Quest Browser and pair your headset. Keep your PC and headset on the same local network while watching. Once connected, choose a ready video and press play.

• Watch regular videos on an adjustable flat screen, or enjoy compatible stereoscopic 3D, VR180 and equirectangular 360° videos.
  
• Select side-by-side, top/bottom or mono to match your video.
  
• Seek with the timeline, adjust brightness and contrast, and move the flat screen with Grip + thumbstick.
  
• Listen through your headset or choose headphones and other audio outputs connected to your Windows PC.
  
• Open files from drives accessible to Windows, including files available through Google Drive for desktop.

A little preparation, when needed

Some files play directly. Others need a compatible copy prepared on your PC before you can press play. The app preserves your originals; conversion takes time and additional disk space. Cloud files may need to download first. Codec, resolution and network conditions affect playback.

What you need

A Windows PC, Meta Quest 3 and a shared local network. The PC must stay on while streaming. Playback runs in Meta Quest Browser; this is not a native SteamVR app or an installable headset APK. Initial setup may show a Windows firewall prompt and a local HTTPS certificate warning in the headset browser.

Videos are not included. There is no direct Google account integration, streaming subscription, DRM bypass or automatic 2D-to-3D conversion. Other headset models are not currently advertised as supported. No separate VR Fast & Simple account is required, and your videos are not uploaded to our servers.

Formats and resolution

Files accepted by the library: MP4, M4V, MKV, WebM, MOV, AVI, WMV, MPG, MPEG, TS and M2TS. The extension does not guarantee playback: video and audio codecs also matter.

Viewing modes: flat-screen 2D, side-by-side or top/bottom 3D, and equirectangular VR180/360°. Fisheye and cubemap projections are not supported.

Compatible originals stream without reducing their resolution. Playable resolution and frame rate depend on the codec, headset and network; playback of every 4K or 8K file, or correct HDR rendering, is not guaranteed.

If video re-encoding is needed, you can choose to create a compatible copy on the PC. It uses 8-bit H.264, up to 4096 pixels per side, 9,437,184 total pixels and 60 FPS. The aspect ratio is preserved: for example, a 2:1 360° video is limited to 4096 × 2048. These limits do not apply to originals.

Video or audio copies are stored on the PC, not the Quest. Preparation takes time and additional disk space; originals are preserved. Cloud files may need to download first. DRM-protected files are not supported.
