What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Nexus Wars launches in early access (Version 0.0.5) to invite players into its evolving universe while refining core mechanics and expanding its galaxy. As a text-based, narrative-driven experience, early access allows us to:
Test and Balance Gameplay: Fine-tune the 24-hour loop, success chance system (Attributes, Traits, Skills), and hostile GAME MASTER AI based on player feedback.

Expand Content: Develop additional faction lore, events, and mysteries (e.g., HyperNet origins, NPC faction interactions) iteratively with community input.

Ensure Stability: Perfect the Backend integration for logging chats and EVENTS, ensuring seamless interactivity.

Build Community: Engage players early to shape this infinite-loop survival odyssey, making it a collaborative journey.

This zero release is a bold first step—raw, perilous, and open to growth. Join now to survive, influence, and uncover the truth!

It is part of mantra of LIve Development of the Game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 5 years. This timeline allows us to refine mechanics, expand the galaxy’s lore, and perfect the experience with player input, ensuring a polished, immersive sci-fi odyssey by the end.

Implement all of the next stages of game development, and putting it all together as one of a kind game experience.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Nexus Wars (Version 0.0.5) is a text-based survival odyssey focused on Frames, loops, and a hostile galaxy. The full version envisions a vastly expanded scope based on a multi-stage future plan, adding new gameplay styles and depth while keeping specifics flexible. Here’s how it could evolve:

Stage 2 Additions: Plans include shifting to an auto-battler format where players command mech armies, introducing 240 units across the 9 factions with diverse skills. Strategic PvP encounters and dynamic, player-driven storylines could enrich the tactical experience.

Space Combat Expansion: The vision includes action-oriented space battles with ship control, customization, and solar system territory management, offering a fresh layer of progression and combat beyond the current ground-level survival.

World-Building Enhancements: Future stages aim to deepen immersion with faction-specific lobbies, robust character creation, and customization. Integrating RPG and FPS elements could add personal engagement and action to the narrative-driven loops.

Cosmic Mystery & Collaboration: The "Calamity of Eternal Wars" stage might explore dark, alien forces in a Souls-like challenge, set in impossible realms. Players could unite across factions to face these threats, blending cooperation with retro-style storytelling.

Live Service Scope: The full vision sees Nexus Wars as an evolving universe, mixing strategy, RPG/FPS, and space combat, all tied to community engagement for a uniquely retro yet expansive narrative experience.

The Early Access version is a raw, text-based foundation. The full version aspires to a broader, multi-genre galaxy—strategy, action, and mystery interwoven—without locking in exact features or timelines. It’s a journey we hope to craft with player input!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Nexus Wars (Version 0.0.5), as of December 28, 2025, is a text-based, narrative-driven survival experience set in a gritty, 6970-year-advanced galaxy. Here’s its current state:
Core Gameplay: Players inhabit Frames (synthetic, clone, or bio-engineered bodies) trapped in a 24-hour mind-swap loop via the HyperNet. Each loop starts with dire danger, requiring immediate survival decisions, followed by exploration and mystery-solving. The GAME MASTER AI challenges players with perilous choices, hostile encounters, and a chance-driven system using #Attributes#, @Traits
@, and %Skills%.

Factions: Features 9 playable factions (e.g., The Guild, Reapers Swarm), each with unique lore and starting contexts, plus 2 evil NPC factions (AruKai, Vrag) and 1 neutral (Rohar Empire), shaping a dynamic galaxy.

Mechanics: Includes character creation (name, citizenship, gender, race), a success chance system (e.g., #Dexterity: 5# = 50% base, modified by Traits/Skills), and progression via $Sols (currency). Loops reset on death or after 24 hours, carrying over stats.

State: Fully functional as a single-player, text-based experience with Database logging for chats and EVENTS. It’s raw and intense, focusing on survival and the HyperNet mystery, but lacks the broader features (e.g., auto-battler, space combat, RPG/FPS) planned for future stages.

Polish: Minimalist—cinematic yet brutal narratives rely on text, with no visual or audio elements yet. The focus is on testing core loop mechanics and storytelling.

It’s a foundational release, offering a relentless sci-fi odyssey ready for player feedback to shape its evolution!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to increase the price for each expansion of Nexus Wars. The Early Access version (0.0.5) starts at an introductory rate, reflecting its current text-based survival scope. As we roll out new content and features—like auto-battler mechanics, space combat, and RPG/FPS elements—the price will rise to match the growing depth and experience. This gradual increase rewards early supporters while aligning with the game’s expanding universe!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’re excited to involve the Nexus Wars community directly in shaping the game, with Discord as our central hub. Here’s how:
Feedback & Ideas: We’ll host dedicated channels on Discord for players to share thoughts on mechanics (e.g., loops, Attributes), suggest storylines, and propose faction lore, ensuring your voice drives development.

Playtesting: Community members can join exclusive playtest events via Discord, testing new features (like space combat or RPG elements) and providing real-time input on balance and fun.

Polls & Discussions: Regular polls on Discord will let you vote on priorities—like which faction to expand next or what gameplay style to focus on—while open discussions spark creative collaboration.

Updates & Transparency: We’ll post dev logs and sneak peeks on Discord, keeping you in the loop and inviting reactions to refine our plans.

Community Events: Fun events, like lore-writing contests or survival challenges, will tie into the game’s evolving narrative, with winners influencing in-game content.

Discord will be our live wire to you—connecting players and devs to co-create this sci-fi universe together!”

About This Game

Early Access Nexus Wars: A Sci-Fi Odyssey in the Making

Nexus Wars is a sci-fi saga set 4,970 years from now, in the year 6996, running in step with real-world time. You are a Frame: a synthetic, clone or bio-engineered shell whose consciousness has been caught in a 24-hour mind-swap loop by an unknown force working through the HyperNet, the galaxy's network of instant hyperspace access. Nine factions are at war across a galaxy of neon-lit cities, vast frontiers, ancient Sun Harvesters and lurking horrors.

AVAILABLE NOW IN EARLY ACCESS (0.0.6-EA)

Nexus Wars is being rebuilt on a new client and returns in stages. This is what you can play today:

A new launcher and lobby.

The commander creator: choose a gender, one of nine factions and a lineage, pick a portrait, set your attributes and origin, cast your destiny, and review your starting ship, fleet and army in 3D.

The creator currently ends before your Frame is commissioned, and nothing built in it is saved yet. Everything below is in development and opens as it is ready.

THE NINE FACTIONS

  • The Guild

  • Cho'Zen Empire

  • Terran Federation

  • Executive Order

  • Reapers Swarm

  • Saradook Crimson Sun

  • Trinity Union

  • Vodah Collective

  • Ultra Consortium

Each has its own lore, its own way of fighting and its own struggles.

WHAT IS BEING BUILT

The Loop. A choice-driven survival story told in text. Every 24 hours the loop closes; die or disconnect and you wake in a new Frame. A hostile GAME MASTER, an AI set on your demise, shapes each run, and every decision trades survival against Sols, the galaxy's currency, and the truth behind the HyperNet.

Mech Wars. Command mech armies in auto-battler combat, leading the nine factions against NPC powers and against other players.

Space Combat. Take the helm in strategic space battles and fight for control of solar systems. Customize your ships and carve your own path through a contested frontier.

A Universe Expands. Faction lobbies, deeper customization, and RPG and first-person elements woven through the game.

Calamity of Eternal Wars. Dark, alien forces threaten every faction at once: a Souls-like struggle in impossible realms, fought together.

EARLY ACCESS

Nexus Wars is a live, evolving game. Features arrive in stages and plans can change. Buy it for what is playable today, and join us if you want to help shape what comes next.
