This is a turn-based wargame set against the historical backdrop of China’s Liberation War. When the war broke out in 1946, the Nationalist forces boasted a total strength of 4.3 million troops, while the Communist forces numbered merely 1.27 million. The balance of power was heavily lopsided. The enemy launched an all-out offensive with superior equipment and troop numbers. As a commander, you will lead the People’s Liberation Army. Faced with this severe disadvantage of being outnumbered, you will leverage terrain, popular support and mobile tactics to concentrate superior forces to wage annihilation battles, gradually reversing the troop strength comparison between the two sides.

You will witness the entire shift in the balance of power, from the Breakout of the Central Plains and the Seven Victories in Seven Battles in the Central Jiangsu Campaign, to the fierce battles of Menglianggu and East Henan, and onward to the three decisive strategic campaigns: Liaoshen, Huaihai and Pingjin. As battles unfold, the enemy’s effective combat strength is continuously wiped out. Meanwhile, your own army grows stronger through combat, with troop numbers and equipment gradually turning the tide, until the final crossing of the Yangtze River and the liberation of the whole nation.

The game adopts a classic grid-based battlefield for wargaming, recreating authentic battlefield terrain including mountains, plains, rivers and towns. Different terrain types affect troop movement, defense and supply. Troops are divided into multiple arms such as infantry, artillery and cavalry, each with independent attack, defense, mobility and morale attributes. A fog-of-war system is implemented; intelligence reconnaissance, flanking maneuvers and cutting enemy supply lines are all critical keys to victory. Enemy AI replicates historical tactical approaches, executing multi-pronged encirclement and focused assaults.

Every campaign restores the real troop deployment of history. You must make tactical tradeoffs with limited forces, strike the enemy with fewer troops, and annihilate the main enemy formations. Level save and battle replay functions are supported. Through turn-based simulation, experience the reversal of fortunes in this great war and grasp the tremendous power of the people’s war.
