About This Game

Grow, breed and sell your own produce

Greenhaus is a cozy greenhouse management sim. Start with a single pot and a packet of tomato seeds, and build up to a glasshouse full of fruit, vegetables and herbs. Water, prune, repot and feed your plants, and the best ones are yours to breed.

Procedural plant simulation

Every plant in Greenhaus is grown, not drawn. There are no pre-made sprites or growth stages: each plant builds itself stem by stem and leaf by leaf from its own genes, so no two tomatoes ever come out the same shape. A cross between two plants grows into what it actually inherited.

The plants run on physics, too. Branches sag under the weight of their fruit, sway in the wind, droop as a plant wilts and fall to the bench when you cut them. Below the soil, the roots spread through the pot as the plant grows, and you can see every one of them.

Look after every plant

  • Water your plants, but don't overdo it. Dry seedlings wilt and die, and waterlogged roots rot.

  • Inspect the roots inside any pot to catch problems early, like a rootbound plant or soggy soil, then move it up to a bigger pot.

  • Prune with secateurs to encourage new growth, and train climbers up a trellis.

  • Keep your soil fed with compost from your own heap, or mix your own blends from ten ingredients.

  • Bees pollinate your flowers. No pollination, no fruit.

  • Watch out for aphids, spider mites, whitefly and more, and treat them before they spread.

Manage the climate

Every crop has its own ideal temperature and growing season. Use heaters, vents, misting, grow lamps, CO2 and thermal screens to keep your greenhouse in range through all four seasons, but every device costs money to run and they don't always work together. Let it get too hot and your flowers drop. Leave lettuce in the summer heat and it bolts.

Breed better crops

Cross-pollinate your plants, save seeds from your best fruit and grow the next generation. Colour, size, sweetness and yield are all passed down, so with each generation your crops can outgrow anything the seed merchant sells. Unlock the research lab to see the hidden genetics behind every seed.

Run it as a business

Sell your harvest at market, or fill orders from buyers for a better price. Deliver on time to keep your reputation up. Reinvest in new pots, better soil, climate equipment and research upgrades.

Learn as you grow

Ten Journey missions teach the basics one step at a time, from your first tomato to running a full market garden. When you're ready, start your own garden with the standard rules or your own custom settings.
