What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are two brothers and a small studio. The game is already fun to fly and we play it every day. Early Access lets us ship updates often and hear what pilots like and what they do not while we develop the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate approximately six months of further development toward a polished multiplayer and PvE experience. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed release date; the schedule may change as development progresses. Updates will ship as they are ready.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add multiplayer free-roam servers with proximity chat, a campaign with destructible towns on a moving front line, and more planes, weapons and ways to score.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Playable now: the career run through SAM belts and enemy fighters to the enemy core, 38 aircraft, each based on the real aircraft's public technical data, the skill tree and hangar, low-pass scoring with streaks, the online leaderboard, guns, missiles and flares, three biomes (forested mountains, desert canyons and tropical islands), destructible terrain and day and night, on Windows and Linux. Expect new content, balance changes and some rough edges.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We plan to raise the price when the game leaves Early Access. If you buy during Early Access, you get every update up to the full version at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We talk with pilots every day on our Discord and read the Steam discussions: bug reports, plane requests and votes on what comes next. The game also has an in-game bug report key, and every update ships with full patch notes.”

About This Game

Jet Combat Sim is a low-altitude flight combat game for Windows and Linux. Fly fast and close to the ground, skim the tree line, then pull up into the fight. Low passes score. Guns, missiles and flares settle the fights. Every impact marks the terrain.

Real planes, easy to fly

Point with the mouse and your jet flies there. Under the hood each plane has its own weight, thrust, wings and drag. Climbs bleed speed and stalls are real. A MiG-15 does not fly like an F-16, and a B-52 does not fly like either.
Pick your controls: mouse aim, mouse aim with keyboard override, mouse stick, gamepad, or joystick and HOTAS. Every action can be rebound. Instructor mode keeps new pilots in the air while they learn.

Break through to the core

The career run starts more than 200 km from the enemy core. Stay low under the radar to keep your stealth bar, destroy the SAM sites in each belt, fight off the enemy fighters sent after you, and push the front forward until you reach the core defences. Crash and the run is over, so every pass counts.

Score every pass

The lower and faster you fly, the more points you get. Chain passes into a streak and the multiplier keeps climbing. Clip a tree and the pass is gone. Your cockpit avionics show your points, streak and stealth live. Post your best runs on the online leaderboard.

38 aircraft

Climb the ladder from the first jet fighters to the stealth era:
  • Early jets: MiG-15, F-86 Sabre, MiG-21bis, F-4E Phantom II
  • Fourth generation: F-14A Tomcat, A-10A, F-15C Eagle, F-16, Su-27, MiG-29, Mirage 2000C, F/A-18 Hornet, Rafale C, JAS 39C Gripen in the RTAF Wing 7 shark-mouth livery, Su-34, Eurofighter Typhoon
  • Stealth era: Su-47 Berkut, F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lightning II, J-36 Prototype
  • Specials: Me 262, Nord Griffon II, PZL-230F Skorpion, SR-71A Blackbird, Aurora, F-117A Nighthawk
  • Light attack: A-29B Super Tucano
  • Bombers: B-52H, Tu-95MS, Avro Vulcan, Tu-160, Tu-22M3, B-1B, B-2A
  • Transports: Concorde, An-225 Mriya, C-17A, Beluga

Skill tree and hangar

Every run earns experience and credits. Spend them on new planes and on a skill tree of upgrades: tougher stealth, faster recovery, radar intel that shows SAM coverage on your scope, and more.

A world you can break

The world is procedural and it never ends. Forested mountains and valleys, desert canyons and tropical islands rising from the sea stream in as you fly, with day and night. Bombs, missiles and crashes dig craters into the ground, and the craters stay.

Crash, watch, go again

When you go down, the crash camera circles your wreck so you can see what happened. Then you are back in the air in seconds.

We are two brothers who grew up playing flight games together. We play this one every day and ship updates often. If you love flying fast and low, come fly with us.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some content that ships with the game was made with generative AI tools before release: the interface artwork (menus and the in-flight HUD art), the 3D aircraft models, the music tracks (made with Suno), and the game's app icon. The developers selected, edited and integrated all of it by hand. Nothing is generated while you play, and the game does not connect to any AI service.
