About This Demo

The free demo of Shades of Europa: two raid bosses and four classes, for one to four players, with bots in any empty slot.

You and up to three friends play the Ignis, flame spirits sent down through the ice of Jupiter's moon Europa. Under the ice sleep the Shades, and every one of them is a fight built for four. Learn the tells, call them out and kill it. Or wipe and go again.

Kester

A flying gunship. He picks someone, follows them round the arena dropping oil everywhere, then sets it alight with a flamethrower. Little cleaning bots wander about soaking the oil up, which is great until one gets full and you've got ten seconds to kill it before it shoots everyone.

Whenever his mana fills he takes off with a Gatling, and the only way to bring him back down is to walk his own homing missiles into him.

Bodvar

He brought the zoo. A bear that makes him stronger while it's near him, boars that leave poison puddles, a bird that picks people up and drops them in the moat, and a Roar that shoves the whole party toward the water. Kill the bear and he enrages.

Read the floor

Every big hit is marked on the floor before it lands. Most deaths are a mechanic you saw coming.

Four classes

The Frostbinder builds Shatter with every auto attack, cashes it in with Ice Lance, and can Ice Block a mate before something nasty lands on them. The Paladin swings a big hammer, heals with Holy Light, and keeps one of three auras up at a time, which Judgement can cash in for damage.

The Ranger's arrows hit harder the further they fly, and Sprint makes it the only class that can outrun Kester. The Rogue stacks bleeds and poison, and leaves a shadow it can swap places with to get out of trouble.

The Hearth

You start in the Hearth, a round hall under the ice, as a random hero. Walk up to a shrine to change class. Nine shrines, four lit: the dark ones are classes that aren't in the demo.

Each boss is a door in the back wall. Get everyone standing in it for three seconds and you're in. Beating Kester thaws Bodvar's door. Down a tunnel on the right is a practice room with a giant frozen in ice to hit, which shows your damage per second.

Bring friends, or bots

One of you hosts, the others join from a Steam invite. Bots take any empty slot, and you can click a bot's party frame to change its class. The boss never changes with the number of players.
