What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I'm a solo developer. The core of the game — steal skills from the heroes, build around them, and fight through 30 rounds — is playable today. Early Access lets me grow it with real player feedback: tuning balance, polishing animation and sound, and adding the content that is already planned.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Around 6 to 12 months. I will share progress with the community as each update lands.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Updates start by polishing the art, animation and balance, and new heroes will be added regularly. The full version completes Classic mode, the mode you play now, at 36 rounds: after the round-35 hero, a final boss waits in round 36. The long-term goal is a Story mode. Player feedback will be actively adopted along the way, and plans can change because of it.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes 30 rounds across 6 stages, 12 heroes (6 per run), 48 stealable skills (up to 6 per run), 32 special augments plus basic augments, and a Rune Shop for permanent upgrades between runs, with the interface in English, Korean and Simplified Chinese. Animations, effects, sound and balance are still being improved.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase as major content is added toward 1.0. Anyone who buys during Early Access keeps every update at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'm making this game alone, so player feedback isn't a nice extra — it's how the game gets better, and it will be actively adopted. Where to reach me:
- Steam discussion forums (this game's community hub): bug reports, balance opinions, ideas. I read every post and reply there.
- Short surveys, posted as Steam announcements after major updates.
Every update note will say what changed and why, including what came from your reports. I can't promise to build every suggestion, but what players report decides what gets fixed, tuned and built first.”

About This Game

Minion's Revenge: Take Everything They Took is a side-scrolling action roguelite about the weakest soldier on the battlefield — and the heroes he is coming for.

HEROES WIN THE WARS. MINIONS DIE IN THEM.

Every time the heroes went to war, soldiers like you were marched into the space between them — a number, a shield, a body thrown forward so someone else could win. No one counted the minions who fell. No one remembered their names. You watched your comrades die, again and again, until there was no one left beside you. Then something in you woke up. They took everything — and now every "hero" stands between you and revenge.

KILL THE HERO. TAKE THE SKILL.

Pick a hero to rob before the first fight, then bring down the heroes and choose a skill from the ones they offer. Stolen skills stay yours for the run — up to six at once. Fire some yourself on W, E and R; let others fight on their own in automatic slots.

12 HEROES. 48 SKILLS. NO LEVEL-UPS.

Twelve heroes, four stealable skills each. Breathe the Pyrelord's Fire Breath, unleash the Rogue's Thousand Blades, cut across the screen with the Swordmaster's One Flash. No XP, no level-ups: you build with stolen skills and the rewards you choose.

FIGHT WITH YOUR OWN HANDS

Move, jump and dash with the arrow keys and swing your basic attack yourself (Q by default). Press Space to launch soldiers into the air, chain an air combo, and Space again to slam them down. Every hero fights with their own attack patterns — learn them, dash through them, hit back.

BREAK YOUR BUILD

Clear a round and pick a basic augment. Bring down a hero and pick a special augment too — 32 in the game, from critical-hit skills to poison, burn and bleed. Stack them on your stolen skills until the numbers stop making sense.

THE MARCH ON THE CASTLE

Six stages and 30 rounds, from a burning village to the heart of the enemy castle. A hero waits every fifth round — six of the twelve, a different line-up every run. Fall, and the Rune Shop makes your next minion permanently stronger.

WHAT'S IN THE GAME

  • 12 heroes with their own attack patterns — 6 per run
  • 48 stealable skills — steal up to 6 per run
  • 32 special augments, plus basic augments after every round
  • 30 rounds across 6 stages
  • Rune Shop permanent upgrades between runs
  • No level-ups, no XP
  • Interface in English, Korean and Simplified Chinese

A NOTE FROM THE DEVELOPER

Minion's Revenge: Take Everything They Took is made by one person. It is in Early Access because it needs players: to find the bugs I miss, to tell me which skills and augments are too strong or too weak, and to say what you want to see next. The road ahead: first polishing the art, animation and balance, then adding new heroes regularly, then completing Classic mode at 36 rounds with a final boss, and in the long run, a Story mode. If something breaks or feels unfair, please post it in the Steam discussion forums. I read every post, and each update note will say what changed because of your feedback. Thank you for playing — and for helping build it.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Visual assets in this game (character sprites and animations, visual effects, backgrounds, icons) and the store artwork were created with generative AI image and animation tools, then selected, edited and assembled by the developer. In-game text and its translations were written with the help of AI language tools and edited by the developer. Music and sound effects were not created with generative AI; they come from licensed sample libraries. No content is generated by AI while the game is running.
