About This Demo
Your deck is the board.
Most deckbuilders hand you cards. Legend of the Horus hands you an

8x8 board of coloured gems and a hourglass that is already running.

Drag a chain between gems of the same colour. Let go, and the chain pops --

scored like a poker hand, chips multiplied by mult, then run through every

ushabti in your row. Hit the blind's target before the sand runs out.

That is the whole loop. It takes ten seconds to learn and a hundred runs to

stop losing to.
An engine, not a high score
105 ushabti -- the little clay servants buried to work in the

owner's place. Each one reads something different about the chain you just

drew: how long it was, what colour, whether it closed a loop, which carved

stone it swallowed, what the boss is doing to you this round.

The good ones don't give you a number. They grow. Find one early,

feed it all run, and by Ante 8 the score column stops making sense.

105 ushabti across four rarities, including four legendaries

that only the Eye of Horus can give you

22 carved stones in six families -- they don't sit in an

inventory, they fall onto your board for the rest of the run

11 hands to level, three of them hidden until you draw them

by accident

15 rites, 13 tags and three card finishes to bend the

run before it starts

Time is the only currency
You can buy an ushabti. You can buy a slot. You cannot buy seconds.

Every blind is a countdown, and drawing a long chain physically costs you

more of it than a short one. A six-gem chain scores far better than a

three -- but only if you can see it fast enough. That tension is the game.
Thirteen bosses that change the rules
Not damage sponges -- rule changes. KHNUM only accepts chains of exactly

four. SESHAT locks your chain length to whatever you drew first. ANUBIS

gives you three pops for the entire round. The Great Pyramid asks for four

times the score and hands you a hundred seconds to find it.

You see which boss is coming before you shop. That preview is the

best decision in the game.
Four ways to make it worse
Beat the tomb on SAND and COPPER opens. Beat that and the sun sets sooner.

Beat that and the shop turns stingy. Same 105 ushabti, four different

games.
A tomb, drawn properly
Candlelight on sandstone. Gold and lapis, used sparingly, because colour is

rare and that is what makes it worth something. The room is solemn.

The servants in it are not. They are tired, smug, and carrying far too

much.
