About This Game

Uncanny Diary is a supernatural investigation game that blends narrative, exploration, mystery-solving, and dungeon crawling. You play as Ren Akiyama, a young man searching for his twin brother, who mysteriously vanished from their village in Japan, along with every trace of his existence.

Years later, just as Ren is coming to terms with his brother's loss, he discovers an enigmatic diary filled with accounts of unexplained phenomena occurring across different places and eras. What begins as a possible clue to his brother's disappearance draws Ren into a world of supernatural mysteries, forgotten memories, and dangerous creatures.

Explore the village, talk to its residents, investigate places and gather objects that might hold clues about your brother's disappearance. Get to know the locals, follow leads, and uncover the secrets hidden throughout the village.

Your discoveries will help you make sense of the village's mysteries and prepare for the dangers that come with nightfall.

Fight monsters in a dungeon crawling experience during the night!

Venture into a haunting reflection of the village, where familiar places and objects from the real world reappear in distorted, nightmarish forms. Supernatural creatures lurk within this twisted landscape, turning your investigation into a fight for survival.

During combat, dodge enemy attacks by moving laterally, find the ideal position, and use your camera to photograph the creatures. Frame them at the right moment to capture their essence and defeat them.
