À propos de ce jeu

Haulage Simulator is a motorway-focused trucking simulation built around detailed driving, real-world-scale journeys, dynamic road conditions, realistic deliveries and the progression from employed driver to running your own haulage company.

Beginning with the M62 corridor between Liverpool and Hull, the road network is being built at close to real-world scale rather than heavily compressed.

A long journey should feel like a long journey. Familiar motorway sections, junctions, gradients and surrounding landscapes have the space to feel recognisable, giving locations more meaning and making progress across the route feel earned.

Traffic, weather, roadworks, delays, delivery deadlines and vehicle behaviour combine to make each job more than simply driving from A to B. Including Wind/Aerodynamic Simulation.

Whether you are using a keyboard, controller or full steering wheel and pedal setup, Haulage Simulator is being designed to make the act of driving the truck itself rewarding.

Haulage Simulator takes a different approach to world scale.

Rather than significantly compressing the motorway network, routes are designed to remain close to their real-world distances wherever practical.

The result is a road network that has a stronger sense of place.

Recognisable junctions, long motorway stretches, climbs, descents and changes in landscape have room to exist naturally instead of being condensed into a few minutes of driving.

If you know the roads, the aim is for sections of the journey to feel familiar.

If you do not, the scale helps every destination feel like somewhere you have genuinely travelled to.

The route is inspired by real geography and road data, while some elements may be adjusted where necessary for gameplay, performance and development.

The motorway is not just a backdrop.

Expect changing traffic conditions, roadworks, lane closures, reduced speed limits, congestion, breakdowns, incidents and other delays that can affect your journey and delivery time.

Motorway services, fuel stations, delivery depots and dedicated truck stops provide places to refuel, rest, prepare for your next job and eventually meet other drivers.

The road network is planned to expand beyond the M62 into a larger connected motorway system while remaining focused primarily on major roads.

The world changes with the time of day.

Haulage Simulator features a real-time day/night cycle that can follow your local computer clock.

Drive during the afternoon and the motorway is lit by daylight.

Start a journey late at night and you can experience the same route in darkness, with vehicle lighting, street lighting and the surrounding environment changing accordingly.

Time is also intended to become an important part of the wider simulation, affecting traffic levels, delivery schedules, rest periods and other gameplay systems.

Weather is designed to affect more than just the visuals.

Rain can reduce visibility and grip, while strong winds and crosswinds can push against the cab and trailer.

Supported steering wheels can provide force-feedback effects representing road surface, vehicle movement and adverse weather conditions.

An empty or lightly loaded trailer may react very differently to strong winds compared with a heavily loaded vehicle.

Deliveries are designed to involve more than simply selecting a destination.

Jobs can vary by:

  • Cargo type

  • Cargo weight

  • Trailer requirements

  • Pickup windows

  • Delivery deadlines

  • Distance

  • Traffic conditions

  • Roadworks and delays

  • Weather conditions

A journey that is straightforward one day may involve congestion, roadworks or difficult weather the next.

Good planning and careful driving can be just as important as speed.

Start out working as a contracted driver and build your reputation by completing jobs successfully.

As you progress, work toward becoming an owner-driver and eventually build your own haulage company.

Progression is planned to include:

  • Taking on increasingly valuable contracts

  • Purchasing your first truck

  • Buying additional trucks and trailers

  • Upgrading vehicle components and equipment

  • Managing fuel, maintenance and operating costs

  • Building relationships and reputation with customers

  • Expanding your fleet

  • Creating your own company identity

The goal is for purchasing your first truck and eventually establishing your own haulage company to feel like meaningful achievements.

CUSTOMISABLE TRUCKS AND INTERIORS

Haulage Simulator features fictional truck manufacturers created specifically for the game.

The first vehicle platform, the Vaylon V7, is being developed with a detailed right-hand-drive cab, modelled exterior and chassis, working displays and physical controls.

Interactive systems are planned to include:

  • Lighting and indicators

  • Wipers and visibility controls

  • Cruise control

  • Parking brake and transmission controls

  • Trailer and suspension controls

  • Climate controls

  • Dashboard displays

  • Infotainment and navigation

  • CB-style radio communication

The aim is for the cab to feel like a working environment rather than simply a camera position.

TRUCKS, TRAILERS AND CUSTOMISATION

Build a fleet that feels like your own.

Choose trucks, trailers, components, equipment and upgrades as your company grows.

A bespoke livery system is planned to allow company owners to create their own branding for trucks and trailers.

The goal is to support both an accessible in-game livery designer and advanced external templates for players who want to create more detailed custom designs.

SERVICES AND TRUCK STOPS

Motorway services and dedicated truck stops are intended to play an important role in longer journeys.

Stop for fuel, take required rest breaks, prepare for the next stage of a delivery or simply pull in during difficult weather.

Dedicated truck stops are also planned to become social locations for multiplayer sessions, giving drivers somewhere natural to park, meet and organise convoys.

MULTIPLAYER AND CONVOYS

Multiplayer is planned around player-hosted private servers rather than permanent official dedicated servers.

~ Though this is still in consideration.

Drive with friends, organise convoys, meet at truck stops and communicate with nearby drivers using proximity and CB-style voice communication.

This allows communities to create their own sessions while keeping the multiplayer infrastructure practical for an independent project.

BUILT FOR DIFFERENT WAYS TO DRIVE

Haulage Simulator is being developed to support:

  • Keyboard and mouse

  • Gamepads

  • Steering wheels and pedals

  • Force feedback

  • Configurable controls and sensitivity

Force feedback is an important part of the driving experience, including feedback from steering, road conditions and adverse weather such as crosswinds.

Wheel and hardware support will continue to be expanded and refined throughout development.

AN INDEPENDENT SIMULATOR BUILT TO GROW

Haulage Simulator is an independent project currently in active development.

The initial focus is on creating a polished and enjoyable core experience along the Liverpool-to-Hull M62 corridor before expanding the motorway network, vehicle selection and career systems.

Features, balancing and content will continue to evolve as development progresses and player feedback is gathered.

The goal is simple:

Build a reputation. Buy your first truck. Create your company. Design your fleet. Take on bigger contracts. Battle traffic, time and weather — and make the motorway your workplace.
