About This Game

Onion Planets is a co-op mining game about peeling layered planets for what's worth selling.

Cut through the layers of terrain with lasers and drills, build an industrial operation out of cranes, pipes, belts and drilling rigs, and defend it from a swarm of thousands of angry local creatures.

Dig Into a Planet

The ground is simulated. Every tile you mine drops as a boulder. Grind boulders down into gravel and extract valuable materials from it. Boulders, gravel and liquids pour into the holes you mined and into natural caves.

Build Logistics and Machines

Belts, pipes and containers move materials. Cranes lift containers, buckets and drilling rigs. Assemble drilling rigs from parts to dig through the terrain faster. Crushers, extractors, smelters and other processing machines turn raw materials into precious cargo.

Ship It, Then Prepare to Defend

Load the trader ship with cargo and launch it to get paid. The bigger the cargo, the bigger the swarm it wakes up. Build walls and turrets before the locals come to complain.

Catch the Wildlife

The planet is full of critters and strange plants. Trap critters in cages, collect plants, and ship them off on the trader for research that unlocks new things to print.

Better With a Crew

Play solo or join friends online. One drives the drilling rig, one holds off the creatures, and everyone watches the same boulder roll the wrong way.
