About This Game

Experience Hnefatafl, the ancient Viking board game of strategy and unequal warfare. Test your wits in tactical matches against a computer opponent. Core Gameplay Features: • Asymmetrical Warfare: One side controls the King and his defenders, attempting to escape to the safety of the corner squares. The other side controls an invading army of attackers, outnumbering the defenders two-to-one, tasked with trapping and capturing the King. • Strategic Capture: Pieces move orthogonally (like rooks in chess). Capture enemy pieces by surrounding them on two opposite sides—sandwiching them between your pieces, or between a piece and a hostile corner or throne square. • Single-Player AI Mode: Challenge a computer opponent designed to test your positioning, defensive wall building, and offensive flanking maneuvers.
