About This Game

Every death counts

When you die in ECHO SEQUENCE, you don't just start over. Your last life comes back as an Echo: a hologram that repeats every step you took and every shot you fired, while you play the level again beside it. Die again and there are two. Then three.

Split the job across your lives

A level only opens once you have raised enough power: hold pressure plates, escort the power cart, bring down the boss. It is more than one soldier can do. So spend a loop on a plate, end it, and let your Echo hold that plate while you take the next one.

Your Echoes do the same thing, every time

An Echo never improvises. It walks the same path and fires at the same moment, which makes it the most reliable teammate you will ever have, and the hardest one to plan around. Guard the cart through the quarry with the lives that came before you.

The dead fight back

The undead don't care which of you is real: they go after your Echoes as hard as they go after you. Brutes pick up crates, barrels and even other zombies and throw them into your line. Summoners raise more of them, skeletons hide behind shields, and a boss waits at the end.

Set it all on fire

Barrels burn and explode, fire spreads through grass and trees, and cover breaks apart. And next loop, your Echo will light the same fuse at the same second.

Every loop is a resource

Each level gives you a fixed number of loops, and every loop you spend comes back as an Echo. End a loop early when your job is done, or push on and fight. Between levels, pick upgrades that shape your run. Between runs, your Memories unlock new weapons and upgrades.

Features

  • Time-loop co-op with yourself: every spent loop fights beside you as an Echo

  • Hand-built, semi-random levels: a suburban street, a quarry and a shop overrun by the undead, plus boss fights!

  • Multiple weapons, drops, upgrades and permanent unlocks between runs

  • A planning timeline that shows when each of your Echoes will be holding each objective

  • Full controller support

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

ECHO SEQUENCE is a stylized, low-poly top-down shooter. You fight zombies and skeletons with guns, explosives and fire. Combat shows red blood splatter and blood pools, and enemies can be dismembered or blown apart. Their bodies remain on the ground. When the player character dies, or the player ends a loop early (the game's core time-loop mechanic), the character bursts apart in the same way before respawning. This is presented as a sci-fi time-loop reset, not as self-harm. There is no sexual content, no drug or alcohol use, and no strong language.
