The Protagonist, Hanzo Anjaneya

A descendant of Hanuman's lineage, carried out of a war as a child. He trained in the monasteries of China and the mountains of Japan. Now he returns to free his homeland from a thousand-year-old corruption.

Combat

Hanzo fights with three martial arts from three lands: Kalaripayattu, the ancient fighting art of India; the Shaolin staff of China; and tachi swordsmanship from Japan, a specialised sword art first developed for mounted warriors in Japan's early feudal era. Each style grows as his journey moves between India, China and Japan, and each suits a different kind of enemy.

The Shadow Army

Raised from the fallen and joined by creatures from the lower worlds, the Shadow Army now holds the temple-city of Matangapura and the land around it.

About This Game

During the churning of the cosmic ocean, the Devas and Asuras brought forth the Kalpavriksha, the wish-fulfilling tree. Because kings, Asuras and the greedy would all fight to control it, the Devas hid it in Kishkindha, a sanctuary concealed near the sacred river Pampa.

Centuries later, that hidden world has fallen. A Shadow Army holds the temple-city of Matangapura and the lands around it. Hanzo Anjaneya, a descendant of Hanuman's line, was carried out of the war as a child. He trained for years in the monasteries of Henan and the mountains of Japan. Now he returns home.

Multiverse Legends — Chapter One: Kalpavriksha is a single-player action RPG set in an open world inspired by the real ruins and landscapes of Hampi, Karnataka. The story moves between India, China and Japan, drawing on Hampi, Nara and Henan.

Hanzo fights with three styles learned in three lands: Kalaripayattu, Shaolin martial arts and Japanese sword technique. Each style grows as the story moves between worlds.
