About This Game

Anyone can ruin a masterpiece. Doing it perfectly takes skill.

In Masterpiece Malpractice, each puzzle gives you a distorted painting and an untouched copy. Your job is not to repair the damage. It is to recreate it.

Choose your distortion lenses, place them over your canvas and work out how to make the two images match. Inflate a cheek, twist a sky or give a perfectly respectable portrait a very questionable makeover. The mess may look ridiculous. Getting it right takes a good eye.

Make a very precise mess

Unlock 13 techniques that inflate, compress, drag, smudge, spiral, ripple, stretch and pixelate. Start with one simple alteration, then tackle puzzles that combine up to five. The challenge is choosing the right tools and finding exactly where they belong.

Trust your eye. Then submit.

There is no live score to follow. Compare the paintings, adjust your lenses and submit when you think you have matched the reference. Need a nudge? Hints reveal a technique first, then its approximate location.

Each case has three stars to earn: finish without hints, achieve a perfect match and discover a challenge specific to that artwork. Stars carry over between attempts, so you do not have to earn all three at once.

Give the classics a questionable makeover

Play through 70 cases featuring works by Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Johannes Vermeer and more. The collection draws on 68 original artworks, with all three panels of The Garden of Earthly Delights playable separately.

Your progress fills a framed mosaic gallery. Return to a case and its distortions change, giving you a new arrangement to figure out on a familiar canvas.

No art history knowledge required. Just a good eye for bad art.

Ruin art. Precisely.
