Why Early Access?

“Early access is an opportunity for us to introduce the world to The Island of Eternal Struggle, while continuing to develop features and content. This gives us an opportunity to evolve and develop the game with the feedback of the community. We believe this will help us make The Island of Eternal Struggle an RPG that fans of the genre will truly love.

As we begin early access, the game will be in an incomplete state, and only the first story arc will be available, meaning the player will not be able to finish the game at this time. All character job classes are also not available, and many locations you can visit don't have the additional content or polish that we envision in the end product.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate that the game will be in Early Access for a year to 18 months. However, during this time we will constantly be releasing additional features, so the game will continue to grow.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full game will have a longer, complete "main story" as well as additional playable classes, sidequests, additional gameplay features and additional supported platforms.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At this time, the game includes the first seven locales that the player can visit, the first major story arc, four playable characters, seven bosses and eight job classes. The main mechanics of the game are complete, but polish, additions and content will continue to be developed and included in the game experience as we continue on our development journey.

It is important to recognize what won't be included as well. The player will not be able to complete the main plot at this time, nor will they be able to experience all of the job classes. Some of the beginning areas of the game are being worked on as well, and are still being polished throughout our Early Access journey. There are also no side quests at the time of this writing, although we plan to add them throughout development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new contents and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are listening! Recommendations, suggestions, and feedback from the community will help us shape the game. We are active on social media and are looking forward to extending that community to Steam!”

About This Game

A soldier flees a secluded island controlled by powerful deities, consumed in an endless war with one another. Ian sets out for a peaceful life, but soon finds out his past can't be escaped so easily. The war catches up with him and threatens the entire planet. With the world's balance at stake, he teams up with others--fighting their past to restore peace at any cost.

The Game

A faceless soldier, a warrior, a cyborg, and an oracle... while it may sound like an introduction to an awkward bar joke, it's not. It's the cast of The Island of Eternal Struggle--a 2D turn-based RPG developed by Wimbus Studios. The game places heavy emphasis on battle-system interaction, deep character-class customization, and a rich storyline with humor and depth.

  • Classic turn-based RPG gameplay, but with unique and exciting "action commands"--enabling interactive and fast-paced combat sequences.
  • Job class based character growth. Final game will include 24 different jobs such as Templar, Discomancer and Booze Hound and 500 different skills and abilities.
  • A unique "Soul Slot" system, allowing each character to have a different loadout of skills and combat bonuses.
  • 2D visual style inspired by the classics.
