About This Demo

Today I… is a simulation game about balancing life, work, dysphoria, relationships, and a growingly time-consuming activist involvement in a queer association..

Your choices express your priorities as the game challenges you to balance your year in different ways, leading to different narrative outcomes.

In the demo: 

Try surviving the two first months of the game ! 

Fit together meetings, protests and social events as tetromino blocks on a calendar grid. Then, play through the resulting month, expressed as a visual novel with minigames.

Today I… uses a punk, hand-drawn paper aesthetic with self-composed and recorded audio.

About the gameplay:

Gameplay occurs in two phases. In the first phase, events and meetings are presented as tetrominos to be fitted together in the calendar grid. In the second phase, the events are played in order as a visual novel with choices, as well as with small minigames. Choices and order of events on the calendar, as well as choices within the visual novel, raise or lower “Energy” and “Organization” scores. The goal is to get through the year without letting either score get to zero.

About us: 

Today I… explores the everyday reality of being a queer, trans, and neurodivergent activist. The narrative touches on the day-to-day experiences of dysphoria and acceptance among fellow activists, as well as queer joy and solidarity in fighting for justice for our own community and others.
