Game Pulse: 2015 Season Set

A champion that would not stay down, a 22-year-old unanimous MVP, and the lowest ERA in twenty years. This set brings the complete 2015 professional baseball season to Game Pulse — all 30 teams, every player, and 30 ballpark cards covering every big-league stadium of the season.

What's Included

All 30 team rosters with full player cards (position players and pitchers)

30 ballparks — every big-league stadium of 2015 under its 2015 name, from Fenway Park and Wrigley Field to Turner Field, U.S. Cellular Field, O.co Coliseum, and Safeco Field

Madison Bumgarner with both a pitcher card and a batter card

Mid-season movers get a card for each team they played on, plus a combined totals card

New ratings built from the full 2015 regular season and postseason

Card Generation

Every card is generated from actual 2015 season statistics. Batter and pitcher ratings are built from real performance data across the full season, with park factors computed from each stadium's run environment — so Bryce Harper's card reflects a unanimous MVP year, and Coors Field plays the way it plays.

1.66

Zack Greinke posted a 1.66 ERA for Los Angeles, the lowest in the majors since Greg Maddux in 1995 — and still did not win the Cy Young. Jake Arrieta did: 22-6 with a 1.77 ERA, a no-hitter at Dodger Stadium in August, and a 0.75 ERA after the All-Star break, the lowest second half on record. Clayton Kershaw, pitching in the same rotation as Greinke, struck out 301 — the first 300-strikeout season since 2002. All three cards are in the set. Line them up against the best lineups in Game Pulse history and see who scores.

Never Out of It

Kansas City won 95 games and the American League pennant, and almost none of it came easily. Facing elimination in Houston in the Division Series and down four runs in the eighth inning, Kansas City strung together five runs and won. In the League Championship Series against Toronto, Lorenzo Cain scored from first base on Eric Hosmer's eighth-inning single to clinch the pennant. And in the World Series, three of the four wins came after trailing in the eighth inning or later. Salvador Perez caught every game of it and was named World Series MVP, Wade Davis closed games with a 0.94 ERA in the regular season, and Johnny Cueto, a trade-deadline pickup, threw a complete game in Game 2.

A Season Full of Legends

Bryce Harper hit .330 with 42 home runs at 22, led the National League in on-base and slugging percentage, and became the youngest unanimous MVP in history. Josh Donaldson drove in 123 runs for Toronto and took the AL MVP, Dallas Keuchel went 20-8 — a perfect 15-0 at home — for the AL Cy Young, and Kris Bryant and Carlos Correa were the Rookies of the Year. Max Scherzer threw two no-hitters, the second with 17 strikeouts, in a season with seven of them. The National League Central had the three best records in baseball: St. Louis won 100 games, Pittsburgh 98, and Chicago 97. Chris Davis led the majors with 47 home runs, Miguel Cabrera won a fourth batting title at .338, and Dee Gordon won the National League crown at .333 with 205 hits and 58 steals. Alex Rodriguez collected hit number 3,000 with a home run, Mike Trout and Albert Pujols each hit 40 or more, and José Bautista's bat flip in Game 5 of the Division Series sent Toronto to its first League Championship Series since 1993. With pitchers still batting in the National League, Madison Bumgarner hit five home runs — more than any other pitcher — and the set gives Bumgarner a real batting card to go with the pitching one. Every star's real 2015 performance is here, card for card.

Relive the 2015 World Series

Kansas City vs. New York. New York had ridden a young rotation — Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, Steven Matz — and Daniel Murphy's home runs in six straight postseason games to the National League pennant. The opener at Kauffman Stadium went 14 innings after Alex Gordon homered off Jeurys Familia with one out in the ninth to tie it. Kansas City took Game 4 with three runs in the eighth, then finished it at Citi Field: down 2-0 in the ninth inning of Game 5, Eric Hosmer broke for home on a ground ball to tie the game, and a five-run twelfth brought Kansas City its first championship since 1985. Replay it batter by batter, manage either side, or run the series a few dozen times and see whether New York can hold one of those late leads. Every at-bat, every pitching change, every ballpark detail — all driven by the real 2015 cards and the roll of the dice.
