About This Game

Draw it. Deploy it. Watch it fight.

Doodle Steel is a lane-battle strategy game where every unit is something you drew. Sketch a hull with the pencil, add tracks, a cannon, armor plates, balloons or a propeller, then send your doodle rolling, flying or sailing across the page to smash the enemy base.

A sketchbook war across WWII

Fight through 108 battlefields on 17 fronts, from the bridges of the Meuse and the beaches of Dunkirk to Stalingrad, Omaha Beach, the jungles of Guadalcanal and Leyte Gulf. Later fronts put you on the other side of the war.

Every battlefield twists the rules so the obvious tank fails: fragile bridges, rivers and ice, mud, night battles lit only by searchlights, sandstorms, minefields, shifting wind, the open sea and submarine warfare beneath the Atlantic.

Every stroke matters

  • Parts break one by one. Wheels, guns, balloons and armor plates are shot off individually, and anything no longer touching the hull falls away.

  • Shots hit whatever they reach first. Armor only protects the side you drew it on. Bombs come from above, mines from below.

  • Armor bounces weak shots. Anything weaker than the plate pings off harmlessly.

  • Physics you can draw. A long gun on short tracks tips over, heavy tanks bog down in mud and collapse bridges, and enough balloons or propellers make anything fly.

  • Guns have limits. A barrel can't aim through its own hull, so turret height and position decide what you can hit.

Legendary bosses

Each front ends with a famous war machine: the airship Hindenburg, the battleship Bismarck, Tiger 131, the Gustav railway gun, the King Tiger, the Maus, the Yamato and more. Most boss stars ask you to win without a cannon, so bring something cleverer.

18 crayons, endless designs

Cannons, vulcans, mortars, rockets, flamethrowers, bombs, torpedoes, springs, searchlights, repair kits, ground drones, demolition charges and more. Earn stars, spend them at the stationery shop, and every new crayon becomes a new way to beat old battles.

Features

  • 108 battlefields across 17 fronts, each with 3 stars to earn

  • Star challenges that change how you draw: no cannon, air units only, fewer parts

  • Wide scrolling battlefields with forward posts, moving HQs, convoys and beach landings

  • A blueprint drawer with share codes to trade your best designs

  • Stuck? Hints, proven designs and an easy mode unlock as you lose, never forced on you
