About This Demo

The Codename: Operation Go Demo lets you experience the core mechanics of this turn-based tactical strategy game: Go-inspired free deployment, division and encirclement, multi-unit coordination, terrain-based tactics, and rapidly shifting front lines.

Units do not need to march step by step from the rear to the front. Instead, they can be deployed directly to any available position on the battlefield and enter combat immediately. Complete an encirclement, and you can eliminate trapped enemy units much like capturing stones in Go. Reinforcements can suddenly appear at critical positions, while the rear can become the new front in an instant. Every action is a tactical decision about space and timing.

Deploy Straight into Battle

Units can be deployed directly to any available position on the battlefield instead of advancing step by step toward the front. Newly deployed units can enter combat immediately, while forces already in play can be redeployed to other sectors to keep pace with a rapidly changing situation.

A threatened flank, exposed heavy weapons in the rear, or an isolated command post can become the key to turning the battle around—and opportunities rarely last for long.

In war, there is no fixed disposition and no constant form.

Divide and Encircle

Destroying the enemy head-on is not the only path to victory. As in Go, you can sever enemy connections, reduce their available space, and eliminate units by surrounding them.

Break open formations, divide enemy forces, defeat them piece by piece, or use terrain and deployment to tighten the encirclement. At the same time, the enemy can use exactly the same methods against you, turning every move into a tactical contest.

Engage with the orthodox; win with the unorthodox.

Coordinate Your Forces and Use the Terrain

Different units serve different tactical roles. Breakthroughs, defense, fire support, and unexpected deployments can work together within the same turn, creating results far greater than any single action could achieve alone.

Terrain is also part of the battle. Forests provide cover, mountains favor defenders, rivers and swamps reshape attack routes, while cities, factories, and airfields can become vital strategic positions. Learn to combine units, actions, and terrain to seize the initiative.

Terrain is an aid to the army.

An Unfolding Battlefield

Each battle begins in one part of the map and expands as the mission progresses. New sectors bring new enemies, terrain, threats, and objectives.

A successful advance may lead your forces into a far more complicated situation. Read the battlefield, redeploy your forces, change your direction of action, and be ready for whatever comes next.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Generative AI tools were used during development to assist in the creation of certain game assets. For visual assets such as units and characters, the developer first created original line art manually, then used AI-assisted coloring as part of the workflow, followed by additional manual editing and refinement. For music, AI was used to generate an initial melodic idea, which was then manually edited, arranged, and refined by the developer in LMMS. All AI-assisted content is pre-generated and reviewed by the developer before being included in the game. The game does not use live-generated AI during gameplay.
