What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Overarmed Survivors is the first game from our small independent studio. We want to develop it alongside players and use feedback from real runs to refine weapon combinations, progression, and the balance of solo and cooperative play.

Early Access gives us an opportunity to address issues across a wider range of hardware and play styles, improve the clarity of combat and the interface, and focus our remaining work on the changes that matter most to the community. Our aim is to deliver an enjoyable game now while continuing to improve its stability and polish before version 1.0.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently aim to leave Early Access before the end of 2026. If we launch in October as planned, this would mean approximately two months in Early Access.

This is a development target rather than a fixed release commitment. Our priority is to resolve significant issues and bring the game to the level of stability and polish we consider ready for version 1.0. We may adjust the schedule based on testing and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For version 1.0, we plan to focus on stability, performance, cooperative play, and a more polished overall experience. We intend to refine weapon and upgrade balance, improve combat readability and interface usability, and address issues identified through player feedback.

We also plan to expand the available content, including additional weapons and evolution options. The exact scope and priorities may change as we learn which improvements have the greatest impact on the game. We are not committing to a fixed number of additions or a specific update schedule at this stage.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes the core gameplay loop: choose a mech, fight waves of enemies, select upgrade cards, combine weapons and passive modules into evolutions, complete objectives, and face bosses. Players can play solo or in groups of up to four through local or online co-op.

There are six locations with their own encounters and objectives, mechs with distinct abilities, branching weapon evolutions, and permanent progression between runs. The current content includes 49 weapon forms, 22 passive forms, and 42 evolution recipes; these totals include evolved forms.

The game is still being refined. Players may encounter bugs, balance issues, or rough edges in animations and the interface. Improving stability, performance, and the consistency of the solo and cooperative experience is a central part of our Early Access work.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently plan to keep the same base price during Early Access and at the release of version 1.0.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use the Steam discussion forums to collect bug reports, balance feedback, and suggestions from both solo and co-op players. Feedback on weapon combinations, progression, performance, and the clarity of combat will help us prioritize improvements.

We intend to share development updates and patch notes through Steam announcements so players can see what has changed and what we are working on. We will consider community suggestions alongside our own testing and the overall direction of the game; not every suggestion will become a planned feature.”

About This Game

There’s no such thing as overarmed.

The swarm is closing in. Keep moving, collect experience, and turn your mech into a walking arsenal. Pick the upgrades that take you from fighting for breathing room to tearing through the crowd.

Bring friends. Bring more firepower.

Play solo or team up with up to three friends. Share one screen in local co-op, or join online with your own view of the action. Each player chooses their own mech and upgrades: build complementary arsenals or bring four different kinds of chaos.

Build your own power.

Plasma saws, missile salvos, freezing volleys, and gravity weapons give you different ways to break the swarm. Pair weapons with passive modules — equipment upgrades that strengthen your mech and help complete evolution recipes.

Combine the required upgraded components into a new weapon. Some evolutions combine again, opening another branch of your build. At the end of one chain waits Zero Hour: a nuclear strike.

One route to try: Napalm Grid + Cryo Squall → Thermoshock.

Pick your kind of chaos.

Your mech brings a starting weapon and its own abilities. Charge through a closing crowd, control an opening with a void wave, or unleash a rocket barrage. Use movement and timing alongside the arsenal you build during the run.

The horde won’t wait.

There’s a job to do in the middle of all that gunfire. Escort a convoy, break through rubble, connect a system, or move machinery with magnetic fields. Reach the objective, make room to work, and finish while enemies keep coming.

Choose from six locations: the hangar, reactor, hydroponics, frozen chambers, command bridge, and caves. A run stays in your chosen location, with its own enemies and objectives.

Put your firepower to the test.

Dodge a blade fan, cross a gap in a lightning wall, and make room for a stone giant’s next landing. Boss attacks change the space you can safely use. Read the warning, find your opening, and keep fighting.

Keep the progress. Change the plan.

Spend the scrap earned in your runs on permanent upgrades and unlocks. Return with another mech, follow a different weapon branch, or take your growing arsenal into a tougher difficulty.

During a run, compare upgrade cards and use limited rerolls to look for another option. Between runs, inspect weapon stats and evolution requirements in the Codex. There is always another combination to try.
