What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We believe there's no better way to develop a game than doing it with and for the people that will ultimately enjoy it. Also we think sharing our development process, plans and getting feedback from people playing the game paves the way to a more fun and successful project.
Thank you for taking part of this!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We aim to have the game stay in Early Access for as long as needed to ensure we release the best possible product we can. We aim for an initial period of 6 months but based on the feedback and the community involvement, this can lengthen up to a year. At the same time, our plan is to have PositronX be a fully fledged product at all times (yes, even during Early Access) with little to no glaring issues and full play-ability.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will be a more complete product in all aspects. It will have all content in (all 5 stages), lots of new enemy types and improved current ones, double number of weapons, Imprints and Implants and more Game Modifiers. Diversified AI, more variety in options and encounters, more characters to chose from, more bosses and mini bosses.

We also aim to have Coop multiplayer and Deathmatch but probably after 1.0 version.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“PositronX Early Access version is fully playable and stable, with content for hours of play. In our internal Alpha Testing phase we have people that played the game for hundred of hours. We planned to release the best Early Access PositronX version that we can, testing, polishing and improving for months before release day.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“After release the price could be a bit higher due to the long hours and resources we need to put in to have everything finished.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Communication is key.
- We plan to listen to anything people have to say about the game, good or bad.
- We plan to respond as fast as possible to any issue or question people might have.
- We plan to update the game as often as possible (aiming for an update every two weeks)
- We plan to keep a tight scheduler about the development process, what goes out, what stays in and when. Anyone interested would see whats next and whats in the game currently.”

Tutorial, All maps redesigned, Zero G Fields, Redefine-able input for keyboard/controller - PositronX 0.7.5 Update

We have skipped a version (from 0.7.3 to 0.7.5) because of the amount of changes we've done this month. Version 0.7.4. was somewhere in between and it didn't make sense to release it as a standalone version.

Keypoints
As part of our efforts in easing new users into playing the game we have implemented a basic tutorial which should address that for new players. Also we have redefine-able keyboard and controller input.
Our main bulk of work has been spent on improving on every map in the game, changed completely the graphical theme for the first stage and improved and updated part of the theme for stage 2 and redesigning all maps at the same time. There are more details, decals and coherency in color theme for maps in both stages. We also started on adding support for Spatial Anomalies, the first one being a Zero G Field. Plus, tons of adjustments and fixes to the game.

All of our resources are going towards having Stage3 asap in the application, playable and fun.

Streamlining fighting experience - PositronX 0.7.3 Update

This update focuses on streamlining the fighting experience of PositronX. Enemies are easier to kill now but health and ammunition are scarce. Also Implant's cooldowns only update while in combat.
We had to postpone rebind keys/full controller support in UI for a later update.

About This Game

PositronX is a Rogue-lite First Person Shooter that emphasizes on strategic fast-paced combat, creative time and movement mechanics and detailed graphical quality, packed into a highly re-playable experience. With basically countless different combinations of Weapons, Implants, Imprints and Upgrades, the game you will play will never be the same twice.

What if time stood still when you moved and only advanced when you stopped moving?

There are tens of Implants to use in PositronX and they can totally change the way you play the game. Time can be slowed, stopped and rewound, you can fly, wall jump or teleport; space can be traversed in an instant. You can stop bullets in mid air and send them back to attackers or call in help to fight for you. Or just jump into a Black Hole and live for eternity. These are only some of the things you can experience while playing PositronX.

PLAY. DIE. REPEAT.

In PositronX you will die a lot. Based on the setup you choose to start with and the choices you make during the game, the play-through could be either easier, harder or almost impossible to beat. But don't take it personally if you die often, you are supposed to. There is an ever growing database with information that updates with each run. After a few deaths you should be getting the hang of it and you will be doing a lot better.

In the good Rogule-lite spirit, PositronX offers a hand-crafted randomized game experience

Current Features

  • Multiple characters to start with each with their own characteristics
  • Player progression system
  • Tens of Implants (fully upgrade-able abilities that your character can acquire, each with their own modifiers)
  • A dozen weapons to choose from (each having two very different firing modes, each with their own modifier)
  • Tens of Imprints to customize your character
  • Hundreds upgrades to improve upon both Implants and Weapons
  • Various levels of difficulty that cater to beginner and advanced players alike
  • Game Modifiers that change the rules of the game
  • Two game stages to play in
  • Game+
  • Local Leaderboards
  • Retro mode
Basically everything we have done is to make sure that the player will always have a new experience; new combinations to try on and options to choose from for countless hours of play.

By the end of Early Access we expect to greatly expand upon existing content while adding new features, adjusting and polishing everything that's already in.
