About This Game

Velorys is a story-driven fantasy RPG about friendship, war, and the paths people choose when the world they knew falls apart.

Four childhood friends grow up together on a peaceful island at the edge of an archipelago inspired by the 15th Century Canary Islands. When war reaches their home, they are separated and drawn into a conflict far larger than themselves.

Their journeys unfold in parallel, following two groups across different sides of a changing world. Each will meet new companions, discover unfamiliar cultures and beliefs, and confront people whose reasons for fighting are rarely as simple as they first appear.

Experience the conflict from two perspectives

Alternate between two parties of four characters, each following its own journey through the war. Their paths reveal different places, factions and interpretations of the same events, gradually building a wider picture of the conflict and the forces shaping Velorys.

The story places its characters at the center of events: their relationships, convictions and personal choices evolve alongside the political struggle surrounding them.

Explore a Renaissance-inspired fantasy world

Travel across islands, kingdoms and contested territories in a world inspired by the cultures, architecture and political upheavals of the Renaissance.

Explore cities, villages, wilderness, ruins and dungeons through third-person environments, with larger regions connected through an overworld.

Fight with planning, not reflexes

Velorys features tactical turn-based combat built around initiative, positioning and cooperation between party members.

Character speed, abilities, enemy behavior and battlefield placement all influence the order and outcome of a fight. Position your party carefully, anticipate enemy actions and combine complementary roles and abilities to control the flow of battle.

Combat rewards planning, adaptation and builds.

Build a party of distinct characters

Every companion has their own personality, background and role in combat. Develop their abilities as the journey progresses and learn how their strengths complement one another both on and away from the battlefield.

Velorys is ultimately as much about the people traveling together as the places they visit: friendships are tested, new bonds are formed, and seemingly distant lives become connected by the same conflict.
