About This Game

Settle a 10,000 year war in this comedic Top Down Action RPG where God is just a guy in jeans. Gather powerful weapons and even more powerful allies as you dash punch, slice, shoot, and bomb your way through the war-torn world of Allcandra. Who will you meet on your path? Who will you trample? Find out what the difference is between being God and just playing.

Meet Gannon, the titular "Wielder of The Grander." What is The Grander, you may ask? That's not important right now, you're in the presence of GOD! Gannon, despite having just been born, has been confronted with the fact that not only is he God, but he's also being sent to the world of the living to stop a 10,000 year war. Or at least, that's what he assumes.

Allcandra is a brutal place. Monsters and Humans have been killing, eating, and torturing each other for all of recorded history. Now it is up to YOU-- er, Gannon rather, to teach these scumbags a lesson! Choose who you follow and who you stand against and watch as the dominos fall.

In each path you will face different foes and outcomes that slowly change the fate of both sides. Will you aide the Humans or will you stand with the Monsters? Who will you help and who will you forsake?

Could your actions have unintended consequences that ultimately make you regret a small decision you made very early on in your adventure? 

Nah!

Just figure it out later! After all, you're God, and you can always just undo everything and start over!

Now the story is all fine and dandy, but I know what you're here for: the GAMEPLAY! And The Grander has got heaps! Fight through mini bosses, solve fun puzzles, and traverse massive forests and mountains with different pathways and obstacles. Find secret bosses, play mini games, trigger enemy traps, complete silly optional side quests, and lots more.

• You wanna rob a store?

      Got that too.

• You wanna play a silly arcade-style popcorn headbutt mini game?

       You're never gonna believe it, but THE GRANDER PART 1 HAS THAT!

• You wanna watch a little pumpkin fella dance with a hotdog?

      OF COURSE THAT'S IN THE GAME!

And on top of that, Gannon has all sorts of wacky weapons and abilities at his disposal. 

• SPIRIT SLASH - Who needs a sword? Gannon can slash with his bare hands! Or perhaps you wanna try out something more fun like a scythe.

• SPECIAL ATTACK - This is your dedicated "use this item" attack. Fire guns, summon bombs, throw chairs--y'know, all the classic stuff.

• DASH PUNCH - Your main traversal method. Dash around or through enemies. None of this dodge rolling crap, a God doesn't dodge, he punches stuff until it dies or his hand gets tired! Although a God does occasionally swap out a dash punch when big guns and other fun toys are involved.

• SPIRIT CYCLONE - Chain your dash punch into your spirit slash and witness the swirling power that is ever-present in the sword world, only this time it looks cool. And who knows, maybe some weapons might change this and make it even cooler.

• DASH ATTACK - Chain your dash punch into your special attack and you'll never wanna go back. Every weapon in Gannon's toolbox has a nice and delicious dash attack. Some change the game in ways that make you say, "Yep, I'm only using this from now on." Try out every weapon and find out just how much fun dashing into an attack can feel.

• COLLECTION PULSE - Don't go scrounging around grabbing miscellaneous coins and ammo, collect it with your collection pulse. This move let's you pick up all that good stuff in a fraction of a second.

• QUICK HEAL - Gannon is going up against some real Monsters here, and the Humans ain't no slouches either, so for when you can't heal all the way in time, you shoot off a little quick heal. Heal a small amount of health almost instantly and get right back into bashing dragons and squashing veggies, or whatever it is that you plan on fighting.

• GRAND HEAL - Sometimes "a little bit" is too little too late, hence the grand heal. This move heals you fully but takes much longer, and you can only carry up to 10 at a time. Every fighter has an opening, find one and heal before he beats your ass for the 5th time!

• JUDGEMENT - Activate this during a fight with a powerful opponent, and only a powerful opponent. You'll do huge damage and stun whoever you hit. Only draw back is you have to stay healthy and hurt your opponent to charge it. What? Did you think you'd get a God smite for free? Surely you jestin'.

Gannon isn't the only one getting in on the fun! Depending on your choices, you can play as:

• ROSANNA - The current champion of the Human world. Her power is only matched by her stubbornness and fury. Why is she so mad? Who's to say! Join her and her anger and power are yours to command!

• MARK WELLS - The King of the Monsters. For such a spooky title, he's a pretty nice guy. You know, to Monsters. Join him and his kind spirit and resolve are yours to wield!

• VESTIGE - Who the heck is this guy? How'd he even get here? Why does he have a gun and a crowbar? If you see him, avoid him, he isn't supposed to be here.

• ???? - There's more?! I bet they're some awesome cool guy with like an edgy personality. He definitely won't be a silly little guy with a nice hat.

PART 1 of 3 Disclaimer

• The Grander Part 1 is a section of a 3-part adventure, with Parts 2 and 3 set to come out at a later date as paid DLC. All three sections will connect into one large story encompassing Gannon's journey through the world of Allcandra, and must be played in order. As far as content goes, all 3 parts will be roughly equal in length, around 10 hours, though like anything, play times vary and you can just mash through all the text like an ape and skip all the puzzles and secrets. But hey, there's always the other route you didn't pick early on, so why not boot up one of the 3 available files and run both? Just an idea.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

The Grander delves into mature themes and scenarios. Violence, while maintaining a level of goofiness, can at some points be overwhelming for younger audiences. Things like drugs, alcohol, racism, and self harm make appearances throughout the game and players who are made uncomfortable about these things should tread carefully. Although mature themes exist in The Grander it is predominantly a light-hearted and silly game, but beware that these themes do make themselves known.
