What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“TV Station Tycoon is a management and simulation game with many interconnected systems, from programming schedules and content licensing to advertising, audience ratings, finances, and competition between television networks.

Early Access allows us to develop and improve these systems alongside the community. Player feedback will help us refine the game's balance, expand its content, improve the user interface, and make the experience more engaging.

We want to build a television management game that offers both strategic depth and long-term replayability, and we believe involving players throughout development is the best way to achieve that.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect TV Station Tycoon to remain in Early Access for approximately 3–6 months.

This is our current estimate, and the development timeline may change depending on player feedback, the scope of improvements, and the development of additional features.

Our priority is to deliver a polished and enjoyable management experience rather than rush the full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand and refine TV Station Tycoon throughout Early Access, building on the existing television station management experience.

Areas we would like to develop further include:

- More television programs, movies, genres, and licensing opportunities.
- Deeper audience behavior, ratings, and demographic simulation.
- Improved rival station AI and more competitive broadcasting markets.
- Additional advertising, sponsorship, and financial management options.
- Expanded station progression and business development systems.
- Improved scheduling tools, analytics, and management interfaces.
- Additional random events, challenges, and strategic decisions.
- Further balancing, optimization, and quality-of-life improvements.

Our goal is to make the full version richer, more polished, and more replayable while preserving the core management gameplay.

These are our current development intentions, and priorities may evolve based on community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“TV Station Tycoon already offers a playable television station management experience built around running and growing your own broadcasting business.

Players can acquire television programs and movies, manage their content library, build daily broadcasting schedules, attract different audience demographics, negotiate advertising opportunities, monitor ratings, manage finances, and compete against rival television stations.

The game includes a dynamic audience simulation with changing viewer numbers, programming performance, time-slot effects, and competition between networks. Players can analyze their station's performance and adjust their strategies to improve ratings and profitability.

The core gameplay systems are in place, but the game is still evolving. During Early Access, players may encounter balance issues, interface limitations, bugs, and systems that require further refinement.

We plan to continue improving the experience through updates, additional content, and community feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently plan to offer TV Station Tycoon at a lower price during Early Access.

As we expand the game with additional content, features, and improvements, we may gradually increase the price, including when the game reaches its full release.

Any pricing changes will be communicated to the community in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an important role in the development of TV Station Tycoon.

We plan to actively follow Steam Discussions, reviews, bug reports, and player suggestions to understand which features are working well and which areas need improvement.

We are particularly interested in feedback regarding gameplay balance, audience simulation, scheduling tools, economic systems, rival station behavior, and overall usability.

Throughout Early Access, we intend to share development updates, discuss planned improvements, and use player feedback to help prioritize future changes.

Our goal is to work together with the community to make TV Station Tycoon a deeper, more enjoyable, and more polished television management experience.”

About This Game

Build your own television empire in TV Station Tycoon, a management game where every show, schedule, advertisement, and business decision can change your position in the ratings.

Start with a small station and turn it into a broadcasting powerhouse. License new programs, build daily schedules, target different audiences, secure sponsors, manage your finances, and react to changing viewer habits as you compete against rival networks.

Build the Perfect Schedule

Your programming lineup is the heart of your station. Choose what to broadcast and when, balancing genres, audience demographics, popularity, costs, and time slots.

Morning news might perform well with one audience, while cartoons, sports, reality shows, dramas, movies, and late-night programming attract completely different viewers.

A strong schedule can create momentum throughout the day. A poor one can send viewers straight to the competition.

License and Manage Content

Expand your library by licensing television shows, movies, special events, and seasonal programming.

Every piece of content has its own strengths, audience appeal, popularity, runtime, and licensing cost. Look for bargains, invest in proven hits, or take a chance on cheaper programming that could become the foundation of your station.

Some opportunities are limited, so deciding when to spend your budget can be just as important as deciding what to broadcast.

Fight for the Ratings

Your audience changes throughout the day.

Viewer numbers are influenced by your programming, time slot, target demographic, weather, competing stations, previous shows, special events, and other factors.

Follow your live audience, study performance data, and adjust your strategy to climb the national rankings.

Your goal is simple: become the #1 television station.

Make Money From Your Audience

Ratings alone will not keep the lights on.

Turn your audience into revenue through advertising, sponsorships, and smart financial management. Bigger shows can attract more viewers, but they also cost more to license and operate.

Decide when to invest, when to save, and when to take a risk on content that could transform your station.

Grow Your Broadcasting Empire

As your station becomes more successful, unlock new opportunities and improve the way your network operates.

Manage your content library, advertising strategy, audience, finances, studio operations, campaigns, syndication opportunities, and competition from one growing broadcasting business.

A Personal Note

TV Station Tycoon was inspired in part by Mad TV, a game I loved playing when I was younger. I always wanted to return to the idea of running a television station, but with a much deeper focus on economics, management, strategy, and the small decisions behind keeping a broadcasting business alive.

I'm also a lifelong fan of tycoon and management games. I've been playing them since the Commodore 64 era and have spent decades trying almost every management game I could get my hands on.

With TV Station Tycoon, I wanted to create the kind of game I personally enjoy: a detailed management simulator where schedules, finances, ratings, viewers, competitors, and dozens of small decisions all interact.

If you enjoy digging into numbers, optimizing systems, experimenting with strategies, and slowly turning a struggling business into an empire, I hope you'll feel at home here.

Every hour matters.

Choose the right programs, understand your viewers, beat your competitors, and build a television network that millions want to watch.
