About This Game

Every contract, a story of its own

Vaultborn is a third-person co-op fantasy action RPG. From the Free City you take contracts - delve forgotten ruins, track and capture great beasts, or break a siege - alone with AI companions or with up to three friends.

An Activity Director watches how your party fights, explores and struggles, and shapes each contract as it unfolds: an ambush when things are too quiet, a lost patrol to rescue, a storm that washes out the trail. No two runs of the same contract play out alike.

Three ways to take a contract

• Expeditions - descend into ruins and crypts. Follow the signs, solve the mechanisms, find what was hidden and get out with it.
  
• Monster Hunts - read the evidence, choose your preparation at camp, then drive off, slay or capture the beast in its lair.
  
• Sieges - hold the walls, retake the towers and raise your banner before the gate falls.

Become who you fight as

Choose a combat style, a power source and a focus - Martial, Ranged or Magic; Light, Dark Arts, Nature, Elemental or Physical; Damage, Defence or Support. Together they make one of 34 archetypes, each with its own strike, focus power, role technique and source gift. Fight with sword and shield, greataxe, spear, bow or staff, and grow your mastery in every one.

Deeds the world remembers

• Legendary Deeds - do something worth telling and earn titles and deed-forged gear.
  
• Ultimate Cards - climb a deed ladder to unlock a powerful specialisation for your loadout.
  
• A living region - your contracts push back the threat around the Free City, and the Chronicle records every one.
  
• Your Company - build renown, recruit companions and decorate your Company Hall with trophies from your hunts.

Gear worth chasing

Thirteen equipment slots, from helm to ring, and weapons that are items in their own right. Each piece rolls its own stats and perks, so every contract can turn up the piece that changes your build.

Play together

Invite friends through Steam and set out as a party of up to four. Everyone keeps their own adventurer, rewards and progress.

A world of day and night

Dawn breaks over the Free City and storms roll in; each contract carries its own hour and weather - deep night in the crypts, rain over a siege at dusk.
