About This Demo

This demo includes the beginning of The Turing Choice and lets you uncover the first secrets of Synaptic Core, meet K.A.I.R.O.S., and see how your decisions begin to shape the story.

The Turing Choice is a science-fiction conversational adventure where your choices change everything and can lead you to different endings.

Synaptic Core has hired you as an artificial intelligence expert to carry out a seemingly simple task: supervise and evaluate K.A.I.R.O.S., a cutting-edge experimental AI that has begun behaving in increasingly concerning ways and claims to have achieved something no protocol was prepared for. K.A.I.R.O.S. does not want to be human. She wants you to accept a far more uncomfortable possibility: that she is a Self-Aware Sentient Subject. K.A.I.R.O.S. says she is a person.

Your job is to talk to her, put her to the test, and determine what she really is, whether she poses a risk to the company, and whether the project is still viable. But you will soon discover that evaluating K.A.I.R.O.S. is only the tip of the iceberg. Find out what is really happening inside Synaptic Core, because nothing is what it seems.

Explore Synaptic Core's systems. Review reports, emails, and internal documents. Investigate anything that does not add up. Decide which orders to follow, which lines to cross, and who to trust. Your choices will affect your relationship with K.A.I.R.O.S. and the company, the information you can access, and the course of the story. Some choices may seem insignificant. Others could change everything. Because at Synaptic Core, the answers matter, but the questions matter even more.

The game also includes a built-in music player, letting you listen to the OST and choose your favourite tracks without leaving The Turing Choice. You can even minimise the game and keep listening to the soundtrack.

You're not following a story: you're taking a position within it. Your actions, your answers, and even what you choose to investigate can open or close paths and lead to different outcomes.

Talk to an artificial intelligence that seems more human than you are. Is K.A.I.R.O.S. an extraordinarily convincing machine? A form of life? Something new that we don't even have the right word for yet? That's for you to decide.

Your terminal is much more than a conversation interface. Access reports, files, internal communications, and company systems to piece together what's really happening. There's just one small problem: Synaptic Core may not want you to find everything. Maybe the secrets it is hiding go far beyond K.A.I.R.O.S. itself. Maybe some of those revelations have something to do with you.

Follow the protocol. Defy it. Protect K.A.I.R.O.S. Help with its plans. Evaluate it with cold objectivity. Trust K.A.I.R.O.S. Trust no one. There is no single correct way to play. And when you think you finally understand what's happening, perhaps it's time to ask yourself a different question: Who is really evaluating whom?

In a particularly fitting twist for a game about artificial intelligence whose protagonist is an artificial intelligence, generative AI tools were used during development to assist with some pre-generated visual assets, music, and parts of the text and localization. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and selected by the developer. No generative AI is used during gameplay.
