About This Demo

New demo runs cover 3 weeks. Combo and multiplier stacking currently inflate damage and scores; we shortened the demo while continuing balance work. Existing 5-week saves can continue to their original ending, and saved progress, ingredients and prepared dishes are preserved. New cooking is limited to bratwurst bread and butter-fried apples; shops sell only their ingredients and the two beers. Other recipes remain visible with a lock, the fish stall is closed until full release, and water cannot be poured for drinking in the demo. Ingredient purchases now play the existing button sound. After 100 combos, unit cards settle increasingly quickly. Winning bets gain a score-card animation without changing their additional damage. The decree that doubles attack but removes victory Crowns now lasts one day, rather than the entire run.

About this demo

This demo covers the first three weeks of the eight-week campaign: two enemies and a boss each week, and a tax deadline after every boss.

  • Slot battles with formations and cascading matches

  • The multiplier wheel, and tile betting with in-game Gold

  • Royal Decrees, and a market with relics, supplies and upgrades

  • The carriage kitchen and the beer keg

The full game continues to week eight, with more enemies, bosses and tax deadlines to survive. If you enjoy the demo, please add the full game to your wishlist.

Turn damage into gold. Turn gold into survival.

Catadel: Slot Defense is a medieval slot-defense roguelite where you pull the lever, send an army of cats charging at the enemy, and pay your taxes. Match unit symbols, stack formations and let the cascades run to build up damage. That damage becomes Gold, making powerful combinations both your weapon and your income.

Limited spins. Bigger possibilities.

Every battle gives you only so many spins. Make the most of formations and cascading matches to push your damage and earnings higher, and win with spins to spare to earn extra Crowns. Royal Decrees, relics and supplies change what each spin can deliver.

Push your luck on the wheel

Your attack is ready. Strike now and keep it, or call ×2, ×5 or ×10 and spin the multiplier wheel. Land on your call and the attack is multiplied. Miss, and that attack is lost.

Bet on what remains

Before a spin, pick a tile, predict which unit will be left on it once every cascade has settled, and confirm your Gold stake. The stake is paid the moment you confirm and is not returned. Call it right and the spin hits harder: your stake times the card’s multiplier is added as bonus attack. Call it wrong and this spin’s attack and combat Gold are 0. The safest choice is not always the most profitable one.

Bets use only Gold earned in battle. No real money is ever involved.

Invest now or save for tax day?

Each week brings two enemies, a boss, and then the royal tax. Gold pays for your bets, for food at the market and for restocking the shop, and for the tax: in full, on the day it is due. Defeating enemies is only part of survival. Come up short and the run ends, however well you fought. Every Gold piece you stake is a choice between security now and the chance to earn more later.

Shape your strategy with decrees and treasures

Choose Royal Decrees and spend your Crowns in the market on relics, one-use supplies and upgrades. Increase the appearance rate of particular unit types, strengthen formation multipliers, or boost your cascades. Discover combinations that turn stronger attacks into greater income.

Even defenders need a break

Spinning nonstop can get a little dull, can’t it? Buy bread, sausage and butter at the market, slice and fry them in your carriage kitchen, and take a bite. Eating gives no combat bonus; it is simply a good lunch. Then pour a beer and take a moment to breathe. Of course, having one while you spin works too!

Key Features

  • Medieval slot defense: pull the lever, match unit symbols, and send an army of cats into battle

  • Formations and cascading matches that build up damage

  • Damage converted into gold, connecting combat directly to your economy

  • A multiplier wheel: risk a finished attack for ×2, ×5 or ×10

  • Tile betting on the final board after every cascade, with in-game Gold only

  • Tax deadlines that end the run if you cannot pay

  • Royal Decrees, relics, supplies and upgrades that shape every run

  • Seven unit types, from Swordsmen to Airships

  • The first three weeks of the campaign

  • A market, a carriage kitchen and a cold beer between battles

  • Single-player. No in-game purchases, no real-money betting

Combo and multiplier stacking currently cause damage and scores to grow very rapidly. While we continue balancing the game, new demo runs are limited to three weeks (nine battles). Existing five-week saved runs can still be continued through their original ending. Your saves are retained.
