About This Game

Restikon Foundry is a village builder / simulation game where you start with a small group of settlers who try to survive off the land by hunting and gathering resources while facing the hardships that lie ahead. Building the colony starts with a simple outpost in the wilderness, a handful of supplies and settlers spiced with a bunch of persistence. Build homes, harvest, fish, hunt, farm, mine, harness natural resources, and craft supplies to advance the settlement...

And eventually expand the colony by establishing multiple villages.

Environment

The environment is divided into several different territories, each with its own advantages and challenges. One territory may be excellent for hunting, while another is suitable for farming and a third contains valuable minerals. In the end, the need for different raw materials and supplies guides the expansion of the settlement.

Seasons

Seasons play a significant role in terms of behavior patterns and resource availability. Berries and other natural resources are plentiful in summer, crops are harvested in the fall. Preparing for winter and the scarcity it brings forms the foundation for survival. Villagers need food, homes need heating and if everything fails, starvation and frostbite will follow.

Progression

The settlement produces and consumes various supplies and resources. While the settlement grows in terms of numbers, the environment can be developed to meet the needs of a growing settlement. Enhancing soil fertility will lead to better crop yields and extracting underground resources enables industrialized production chains. Progress comes through the gradual growth of the settlement and the development of its surroundings.

Villagers

Each villager is individually simulated with personal needs such as hunger, warmth and mood. Overloaded villagers with hardships may collapse and seek relief affecting work morale. Happy and well-fed villagers go about their daily routines with joy. Fulfilling the basic needs of the villagers comes down to simple things; a home, a job, food and company.

Buildings

The game consists of a variety of different buildings divided into 8 different categories such as housing, infrastructure, production, storage. Several buildings have different tiers, which may be unlocked as the settlement grows. Some of the buildings are procedurally generated to avoid monotonous layouts.

Logistics

Each resource must be gathered, transported, stored, fabricated, refined, and consumed, making logistics one of the key features in the game. The placement of storage buildings in relation to production buildings and crop fields affects efficiency by introducing distance. Planning supply ranges enables efficient throughput for critical resources. As the settlement grows with multiple villages, managing and setting up supply chains between villages becomes increasingly important.
