Battleterm is a drone combat simulator, a fusion of a simulator and a strategy game. It aims to simulate a real drone battlefield. Your task is to defeat the enemy by spawning different drones and coordinating their strategies. And the game economy matters too.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access because Battleterm is a simulator, and player feedback is especially valuable for improving its mechanics.

We want you to be involved in shaping the content of the game from the very beginning. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to keep the game in Early Access for approximately 3–9 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Full version should simulate complex drone battles, with different drone types, different objects to defend, nature objects (mountains, rivers) interfering gameplay.

We also want to extend choice of available drone/swarm strategies, and allow player to define and tine his/her own strategies. Moreover, there should be simulation of logistic lines (e.g. transport of drones from factories to launch bases) to defend/intercept.

Right now the choice of such objects is very limited, and the enemy's AI is primitive.

Now the game is limited to one battle, although you can set up it's parameters. Full version should include "campaign" mode as well, with increasingly difficult gameplay and mission.
”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game currently offers a functional, albeit very simplified, gameplay. It's still in alpha, so you may encounter bugs.

Already implemented features:
- you can choose a battlefield with different difficulty
- choose between your bases and spawn drone swarms of different drone types
- change drone swarm strategy, select target
- select and manually control particular drone
- and, of course, lead your drone unit to victory, achieved by destroying all enemy bases and drones

All above is wrapped in basic economics, where you obtain credits by destroying enemy units and spend it by spawning drones. Your own drone classes has dynamically computed price, so you can either flood enemy with cheap ones, or create powerful yet expensive ones.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to raise the price of the finished version by about 50%. All players who own the "early access" version will be able to upgrade to the finished version at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want the community to help us test and provide feedback on drones, battle strategies, the economy, game controls, and overall balance.

We would also love to hear your suggestions for new game objects, both civilian and military (e.g. hospitals, power plants, signal interceptors...) that would enhance the game's fidelity.

About This Game

In Battleterm, you act as the commander of a drone fleet, fighting against enemy drones on a single battlefield.
Your task is to defeat the enemy by defining and spawning different drones and coordinating their strategies.

You see the battlefield from a bird's-eye perspective on a minimalistic map, with modest sound effects and no soundtrack at all. Battleterm deliberately simulates a commander's simple terminal, with its restrained appearance and without visual effects or "kaboom" roaring sounds.

Instead, you can see how drones interact, create drones with different capabilities and warhead sizes, choose targets, and keep an eye on the economy, too.

You can define the battlefield parameters at the start of every game, or try to survive the "Ultra" challenge against the strongest enemy possible.

It's a nerdy game created by nerds.

Create your own drones and build a fleet that fits your play style. Adapt each drone class to the role you need.
Manage your economy and change drone strategies as the battle evolves.
Experiment, adapt, and survive.

And have fun.
