Informace o hře

First Round Hit: The Long Range Shooting Simulator is a long-range shooting simulator focused on the technical process behind achieving a first-round hit.

Estimate target distance, consult ballistic reference data, read the wind, determine the required corrections, adjust your scope, and take the shot.

Each engagement challenges you to analyze the available information and build your firing solution before pulling the trigger.

First Round Hit features 12 preconfigured ballistic profiles and allows you to create custom configurations using different parameters and ballistic coefficients before entering the shooting range. This lets you experiment with different trajectories and setups, whether you already have experience with long-range shooting or are simply interested in exploring and understanding its technical process.

ESTIMATE THE DISTANCE

The exact target distance is not given to you.

Use the Mil-Dot reticle together with the known dimensions of the target to estimate its distance. Perform the calculations yourself or use the built-in calculator to assist you.

Accurate ranging is the first step toward an accurate ballistic solution.

USE BALLISTIC REFERENCE DATA

Different cartridges and environmental conditions produce different ballistic trajectories.

Consult the ballistic reference tables for the selected ammunition to determine the required elevation and wind corrections at the estimated distance.

Reference data can be displayed in MOA or MIL, allowing you to work with the angular unit you prefer.

READ THE WIND

Wind conditions change between engagements.

Observe the wind arrow to determine the direction the wind is blowing and use the windsock to estimate its speed.

Consider both wind speed and angle to determine its effective crosswind component and estimate the correction required to compensate for bullet drift.

ADJUST THE SCOPE AND TAKE THE SHOT

Once you have determined your firing solution, apply it to the scope.

Adjust Elevation and Windage using turrets graduated in 1/4 MOA per click, position the reticle on the target, and take the shot.

Your calculations, estimates, and adjustments will determine whether you achieve a first-round hit.

TAKE ON ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS

Once you are comfortable with the fundamental procedure, Atmospheric Mode introduces another layer to the ballistic problem.

Altitude, temperature, and atmospheric pressure (QNH) vary between engagements, changing the air density and therefore the projectile's trajectory.

Estimate Pressure Altitude (PA) and Density Altitude (DA) from the current conditions, then select the nearest Reference DA ballistic data before building the rest of your firing solution.

ANALYZE YOUR SHOT

A successful impact gives you more than a result.

The Shot Report reveals the actual engagement conditions and ballistic solution, shows the corrections you applied, and compares them to the required values.

Use this information to evaluate the accuracy of your ranging, wind estimation, and ballistic corrections—and improve your approach for the next engagement.

CONFIGURE YOUR OWN PARAMETERS

Experiment with different configurations by creating your own ballistic profiles. Define parameters and characteristics to generate custom ballistic trajectories and tables, and use them directly on the shooting range.

LEARN AT YOUR OWN PACE

A guided tutorial introduces the complete engagement procedure step by step, from estimating distance to analyzing the final shot.

During engagements, the Field Reference provides quick access to formulas, unit references, wind information, atmospheric calculations, and other useful data whenever you need them.

Learn the fundamentals, understand the process, and gradually take on more challenging conditions.

A NOTE FROM THE DEVELOPER

First Round Hit was developed entirely by one person, with a lot of dedication and, above all, a genuine passion for long-range shooting.

This project grew out of my own interest in the activity and the desire to create a simulator that reflects some of the challenges and calculations involved in it.

I hope you enjoy First Round Hit as much as I enjoyed developing it. Thank you for playing!
