Forget sterile chess etiquette and boring opening theory. Checkmortal turns the 64 squares into a brutal grindhouse powered by classic ARPG loot. You don’t checkmate the King by tiptoeing around corners - you wipe him off the board with gear optimization, raw stats, and broken skill synergies.

KEY MECHANICS:

• Buy gear from the Merchant: From mundane vendor trash to game-changing Uniques. Hoard iron, hunt for god-roll stats, and stack massive attribute scalings.

• Piece Archetypes: Default tendencies are just a foundation. Stack raw Strength on a Bishop to turn a fragile caster into a hybrid greatsword-wielding berserker. You decide how to break the game rules.

• Shared Formation Gear: Gear up an entire piece class at once. Hand a greataxe to one Pawn, and your entire frontline gains Cleave attacks, becoming an armored wall of death.

• Weapons Dictate Attack Style: Swords slice through multiple targets (Slash), spears pierce enemy ranks (Pierce), warhammers pulverize single targets into the floorboards (Splash), and staves turn pieces into long-range artillery (Projectile).

• Hard Stat Checks (ZERO Enemy Scaling): Floors feature fixed, ruthless stats. Boss wiped your King in one hit? No mercy. Farm lower floors, roll better gear, and return to crush him with pure DPS supremacy.

SINGLE-PLAYER CAMPAIGN

Fight your way up a brutal tower inspired by arcade fighting classics. Each floor pits you against deadlier armies, nastier modifiers, and the ultimate test of your build. As you climb, uncover random anomalies packed with free XP and fat sacks of gold, along with wall breaches leading into deadly, optional crypts overflowing with legendary loot.
