What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“At first, we planned to release The Wild Eight as a full game - however, over the course of development, we’ve decided that Early Access would be a better fit for a game of our scale. In short - the current game has all of its core features implemented, and the work we’re currently doing concerns mostly content development and fine-tuning of certain aspects of the game.

Even though all of the core features are already in place, we feel that The Wild Eight can become so much more - and for that, we need your help.

Your participation in Early Access will be crucial to the game’s future. Please leave any and all feedback in Steam Discussions - we constantly look for ways to improve the game over the time, especially if it is in tune with our vision for the game’s future.

You can help us by joining Discussions and Discord Server, where you can share your thoughts and experiences about the game.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We’re currently aim to release the 1.0 version of the game sometime in 2019. Until that, we’ll continue to develop the game in accordance with our roadmap, removing bugs and fixing issues along the way - and, of course, taking your feedback into account.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will include more gameplay features, as well as story expansions that will be added throughout Early Access.

The full feature list for 1.0 includes, but is not limited to:
  • New quests
  • More items to interact with
  • Improved gameplay mechanics
  • Content based on your feedback

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now the game is fully playable, but there is more content to be added. Also, we’re working heavily to improve the game’s balance - and your direct participation will help us achieve that. So we await your feedback and stories, especially from multiplayer experience!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to raise the price, according to the new content and features. Only the players who bought the Early Access version will have a price that will not change.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We deeply appreciate community feedback. Something that’s really important to us is how players experience the game, and therefore community feedback will play a key role in determining the way The Wild Eight will move forward towards release. We actively engage our community on the game’s Discussion Boards on Steam, so be sure to leave any feedback you might have.””

The Wild Eight: Shadow Hunt

The harsh lands of Alaska will present new challenges for the survivors with the introduction of the new boss and the food spoilage system!

New quest

Find the mysterious totems around the map and get the clues for lifting The Curse Of Wendigo. Face Wendigo, the dark manifestation of the ancient indian evil, himself. Explore the darkest corners of the abandoned museum or study the bizarre stonehenges.

Food spoilage system

Gone are the times when you could always have a fresh snack in your pocket. All of your food items now have three conditions - Fresh, Spoiled and Rotten. The freshness is portrayed by a bar in the lower part of the item and its description. The freshness decays at a constant rate that can be slowed down by storing the food in the snow or in the Chest.

New accessory and vanity items

Pay homage to the indian heritage by wearing the Native American garb and fight the cold with the lighter which will help you lit campfires easier.

A fresh coat of paint for all of the main parts of the interface and player HUD. And even more additions and fixes: improved visuals for the world and its creatures, animals re-balance, tweaks for melee combat and all weapons.
