About This Content

Solar Imperium Original Soundtrack collects the full in-game score of Solar Imperium, a space grand strategy game about a stranded expedition that builds an interstellar civilisation from a single broken hull.

This is not a score of synthesisers and heroic brass. It is built from older sounds: breathy low flutes, bowed strings drawn out into drones, frame drums and taiko, the ring of metal struck far away, and massed voices that never form a word. The future it describes is feudal and very old. Four chartered Houses answer to one council, alien powers have already divided the galaxy, and the Remnant left engineering behind that no one can yet reproduce.

In the game, the music follows the state of your empire, moving between colony life, exploration, danger, battle and loss. On this album the same 28 tracks are sequenced as a single campaign, from the title screen to the long quiet after a war.
