What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Javelin has been first released in 2015 but it will soon undergo a full rewrite and modernization of much of its code-base for the official Steam release.

My goal is to create a polished Roguelike using open gaming rules that includes a modern interface and provides seamless game play that is free of bugs.

Having players share their experiences during development is critical for success during early access and I am committed to being engaged and delivering a full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Javelin will be in early access for approximately 1 year past its first Steam release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full Steam release will feature a brand-new interface aiming to modernize the game.

When fully released Javelin will have:
* A modern interface that will replace all of the current windows and screens in the game
* A modern battle screen similar to leading RPGs to help manage complexity in combat
* A postgame system where units ascend and engage in customizable epic challenges”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The interface rewrite is in development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Javelin will be discounted while in early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I expect to act on experiences shared by players during early access and future development.

I will interpret comments from players by assessing their fit for the game and then iteratively propose working designs to problems and suggestions they may share.

I aim to work on this project for extended periods and engage with the community semidaily with news or responses to any direct communication and discussions.

Players can contact me via the Steam-forums; Discord; mail and X.com. Links can be found on the sidebar here in the Store-page or from the web-site that is linked too.”
