About This Software

RaceLineCalc is a racing line analysis tool for sim racing and motorsport. Explore racing lines, braking points and cornering using your own track images.

RaceLineCalc calculates a racing line from your own track image, map, plan, sketch or satellite screenshot. Study apex placement, cornering, braking points, speed and estimated lap time.

From image to calculation

  • Import an image and calibrate its scale using a known distance.
  • Trace the left and right track boundaries manually or with automatic tracing.
  • Set the start/finish reference, choose a model and vehicle preset, and adjust parameters.
  • Run the calculation directly on your computer.

Five physics models

Choose the point-based model, car models V1 and V2, or motorcycle models V1 and V2. Change parameters and compare how each model affects the racing line and lap time. Presets help you start analysing cars, motorcycles and karts.

Explore the result

  • Calculated racing line and estimated lap time.
  • Speed, longitudinal and lateral acceleration, and braking points.
  • Calculation stations, boundaries and track geometry.
  • Additional overlays and legends for supported models.
  • Run history and comparison of compatible results on the same track.
  • Demo projects with saved runs to explore the analysis tools.

Local-first workflow

Calculations run on your device. The core workflow does not require a separate RaceLineCalc account or upload your track project to a RaceLineCalc server.

Model scope

Calculations use a calibrated, flat 2D track model. Elevation, banking, jumps, ruts, changing grip, weather, traffic and live surface conditions are outside the model. Results are an analysis aid, not a guarantee of safe speed or real-world lap time. Always combine them with real track knowledge and safe driving or riding practices.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Generative AI assisted with localization, text and promotional artwork during development. RaceLineCalc does not generate AI content at runtime or connect to generative AI services during use. Racing lines are calculated by numerical optimization using physical models.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 22H2 (64-bit) or Windows 11
    • Processor: x86-64 processor
    • Additional Notes: Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system. Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime is required. Calculation time depends on track complexity, the selected physical model, and calculation settings.
    Recommended:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
