About This Software

Eidolophone MELODY エイドロフォン～旋律～ is a downloadable Windows composition program built around a simple idea: art grows from constraints and structure.

It is also a from-scratch modern reimagining of Melody Raiser, the small 1999 MIDI composition program also remembered in RPG Maker communities as Music Mucker. Eidolophone is an independent project and is not affiliated with the original program or the RPG Maker brand.

Instead of opening onto an empty timeline with hundreds of choices, Eidolophone gives you five coordinated voices and a clear path from a musical thought to a complete song. Write melodies across the practical range of the human voice, extend patterns to 16 bars, create your own chord progressions, and arrange reusable patterns into larger song sections and forms.

The included templates are not one-click substitutes for composition. They are worked examples of what can be made inside the same system available to you. Change them, study them, or start from a blank pattern and build something that sounds like nobody else.
