About This Game

You start with money and your goal. So do six other AI players. Every turn you buy shares, bonds, and property, borrow to bet bigger, then watch the economy move and see if you called it right.

The economy is real, and it runs in cycles.

Good years, an overheated peak, a crash, a recovery — over and over. Shares fly in the boom and fall hardest in the bust. Bonds go up when everything else falls. Learn to read the signs and you'll see the crash coming with time to get out.

Three things to invest in.

Stocks: high growth, high risk. Bonds: the safe option that pays off in a downturn. Property: steady rent, buy it outright or with a mortgage. The trick is knowing which to hold, and when.

Borrowing is where people get rich...or wiped out.

Borrow to invest and you multiply the wins. Push too far and the lender forces you to sell at the worst possible time. Do it badly enough and your funds are finished.

Six rivals, six strategies.

One plays it safe, one swings for the fences, one only buys property, one runs the numbers, etc. None of them can see the future, so beat them by reading the market better than they do.

No two games are the same.

The economy is generated fresh each run, so the crash never lands when you expect it, and the lead changes hands right to the final turn. Want it harder? Give your rivals more money to start.

You don't need to know any of this going in.

It's a simplified game, not investing advice. But the ideas are the real ones. The simplifieds Balance sheet and a Profit and Loss statement will not pass the eye test of an accountant, sorry in advance.

AI was used to help code the game, and some of the in-game text was generated by it (and checked my grammar). I love video games, but I work in the financial universe, so without AI I would not be able to mechanically develop the game and do all the steps as a solo project. (Kudos to solo developers pre-AI, next level people)
