Your buddies. Your rules.

Desktop Buddy is a physics sandbox and desktop companion with a retro interface. Paint your own ragdoll buddies, fill a Scene with things to play with, and see what happens when your plans meet physics.

Build something that moves

Combine beams, plates, wheels, hinges, ropes and welds. Connect buttons, timers and devices with wires, then use Motor Wheels to keep a contraption moving. Freeze time while you build, return to Play to test it, and save your creations as Blueprints.

Give every Buddy a look of their own

Paint directly on your Buddy with brushes, pens, spray, fill and erase tools. Change faces, hair, hats and glasses in Buddy Studio. Save your characters and bring them into your Scenes.

Take control, or let them react

Play with several Buddies together, configure their basic personalities, and watch their reactions. Enter Direct Control to move a Buddy yourself, pick up objects and use supported tools. Save separate Scenes, expand their worlds and pan the camera to explore.

Be kind. Or experiment.

Play catch, offer food and drinks, or try the physics toybox. Weapons, hazards and mechanical contraptions can injure Buddies. Optional Gore Mode adds blood spray, surface stains, persistent wounds and mortal injuries, with repair and respawn controls when you want to start again.

Keep a little company while you work

Switch to Work Mode for a smaller desktop companion, then return to the sandbox when you want to play. Single-player play and your local creations work offline. Steam Workshop supports the creation formats included in the demo when Steam is available.

This free demo includes the Next Fest sandbox and its included creation tools. The full game is still in development.

The game depicts violence against stylized ragdoll characters using guns, melee weapons, fire and mechanical hazards. Gore Mode includes blood spray, blood stains, persistent wounds, injuries and death. Gore Mode can be disabled. The game contains no limb dismemberment.
