About This Content

The Full Version unlocks two things

• Translation — a translated line appears under the recognized text, in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese or Japanese. Local translation is the default: add the free Local Translation Model DLC and translation runs on your PC, almost as fast as the words, even offline; without it, Microsoft Translator is used automatically with zero setup. You can also switch to Google Translate (not reachable on mainland-China networks) or a translation service running on your own PC or LAN (no account or key needed).
  
• History and export — transcripts are saved per session, reopened whenever you want, and exported as SRT subtitles or plain TXT. You can optionally record the audio as an MP3 alongside them.

Before you buy

• The default local translation needs no internet connection. Online translation services such as Microsoft Translator do; while one is in use, recognized subtitle text is sent to the service you chose; audio is not.
  
• Machine translation makes mistakes. It is there to help you follow along.
  
• Run the free base app first to see how recognition performs on your own machine and your own content, then buy this DLC.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

RealSub uses AI technology as its core function: it runs speech-recognition and voice-activity-detection models (OpenAI Whisper via faster-whisper, and Silero VAD) locally on the user's own computer to turn audio the user is already playing into live subtitles. If the user enables translation, the recognized subtitle text is translated either on the user's own PC by a local translation model (a free optional DLC, used by default once installed) or by the translation service the user selected (Microsoft Translator, Google Translate, or a translation server the user runs on their own PC or LAN), and the translation is displayed. Audio is never uploaded.

The subtitles and translations produced this way are generated at runtime, from the user's own audio, and are shown only to that user on their own screen. RealSub does not generate art, music, voice-over, or narrative content, and it does not share generated text with other users or publish it anywhere.

None of the shipped content assets are generated by AI: interface text, icons, store artwork, screenshots and video are written, laid out or recorded by us. The store capsules are programmatic layouts, and the demo footage is real screen recording of licensed material.
