Tietoa pelistä

Justice always belongs to whoever is counting.

In this world, the Kichou Sentai quantifies every threat and settles it by standardized procedure. Efficient. Impartial, in principle. But procedure sometimes stamps someone as evil before anyone gets around to checking the facts.

Some who had left the Sentai were one day branded, by that same procedure, a "monster attack." They were given the chance to explain themselves. But explaining would have exposed the identity of the very people they meant to protect. So they said nothing, and took the name of monsters.

And then they announced themselves -- the Chojirikai, the Reconciliation Society, a Semi-Public Interest Association.

Having cut off the road of settling it with words, they would set it right their own way. If they are to be judged evil, then they will balance the books on that judgment too, by force. That is how this organization began.

The sentai heroes of this world, the Kichou Sentai, come for you in the name of justice. And among the fists thrown on that battlefield are some that belong to people who share a past with someone on the heroes' side.

Justice is not always right.

This time you take command of the "evil organization," and it is your turn to meet that justice head-on.

Note: this is a standalone first chapter. The conflict shown here is only a small page of this world's ledger.

[ You are Tsukasa, field commander of the Chojirikai ]

Kichou Sentai is a turn-based tactics game that looks at the battlefield from the side of the evil organization. You move the Field Staff (Melee, Defender, Elite, Ranged), the stamp ogre Inki who presses the RECEIVED stamp, and Tsukasa himself.

Across the field stands the Kichou Sentai: Oboro in front, Rei behind her keeping the ledger. Oboro strikes, and Rei's ledger follows. How you take that two-beat rhythm decides the shape of the fight.

The board grows with each episode. Episodes 1 and 2 are 8x6. The final battle, Episode 3, is 10x8.

[ POSTING -- what you enter comes back to you ]

Tsukasa's POST action writes an enemy's move into the ledger. Every posting advances the Settlement gauge; when it fills, SETTLEMENT books one ally's losses in full and makes them whole. Used on Tsukasa himself, it pays half.

Rei keeps a ledger too. It advances when she is struck, and when she shields. When six entries are in, Oboro's finisher, Kasumi Issen, sweeps the line.

If you'd rather not see that finisher, go quiet behind a guard. Nothing entered, nothing gained. The ledger is always honest.

[ THE RECEIVED STAMP -- the hand that stops the clock ]

Inki's RECEIVED STAMP pastes a RECEIVED document onto an enemy's forehead and stops them for three turns. Stamp Oboro, or stamp Rei while she shields? If a Sentinel stands beside the target, the paperwork goes to the Sentinel instead. Whose time you stop is where the battle turns.

[ THREE EPISODES ]

Episode 1 - Back Alley. 8x6, 18-turn limit. Once Rei arrives as reinforcement, the two-beat attack begins. No Inki here. The only way out is to stay beyond their reach.

Episode 2 - Branch Perimeter. 8x6, 24-turn limit. Rei is on the field from the start. A Sentinel takes position beside Oboro.

Episode 3 - The Plain. 10x8, no turn limit. Waves of upgraded robots come around behind you; Muzanki appears on turn 5, and reinforcements on turn 7. Muzanki's MIST RECKONING: SIX CHAIN fires once per battle.

[ ON THE ARTWORK ]

Portraits, face cards, cut-ins and video: only what our own team produced and our own team inspected. We will not claim it is great art. It is art the team cared about.

[ ONE STEP BACK ]

Before the enemy phase begins, you can take back your last move. For those who would like to prepare their defeat with care.

If it sells, we will write the next page of this ledger.
