About This Game

Incrementalism is a free to play collection of small incremental games, all in one place. Every game shares one idea: a run is short, it pays out, and what it pays buys the upgrade that makes the next run go further.

The weapons fire by themselves. You steer, dodge, and decide what to buy next.

Ant Colony, Paper Space and Pirate Seas are in the collection today, and more games are on the way.

The games

Ant Colony

It starts with one ant at the nest entrance and a crumb nobody swept up. Every run is a short day of foraging, you steer the red leader ant over the gold pieces to collect them, and every day the colony comes back bigger.

Five worlds, one ant: a lone ant at the nest, a squad in the garden, a column across the countryside, a swarm lost among the buildings of the city and a dense red mass moving across the whole world.

No weapons. Touch the food to collect it, keep your swarm clear of the creatures that cost you ants and time, and grow the colony through the upgrade graph.

Paper Space

A ship drawn in blue biro flies up a notebook page and the drawings on it shoot back. Every run ends when the pen runs dry, every coin buys the next line on a hand drawn upgrade graph, and every portal turns the page.

Five papers, five ways to fight: a ruled notebook that teaches you to dodge, a blueprint that fights in straight lines, kraft card that hunts you down, gift paper full of mines, and a black sketchbook that throws all of it at once.

Ten weapons fire by themselves, from a continuous laser to homing rockets, chain lightning, orbitals and a death ray. You steer, you choose what to buy, and the page fills up.

Pirate Seas

A paper ship puts out from the harbour and the sea is full of ships that want it sunk. Every run is short, every coin buys the next refit on the upgrade chart, and every passage opens the next sea.

Five seas, five ways to fight: a harbour that teaches you to read the landing zones, the open sea and its broadsides, the black trench where things come up from below, the storm passage and its heavy frigates, and the royal blockade.

Ten guns fire by themselves, from a grapnel line to chain shot, powder kegs, long guns and a grand battery. You steer, you choose what to buy, and the fleet goes down.

Free to play

The first three worlds of every game are free. Worlds 4 and 5 of each game come with that game's full version, sold separately.

Incrementalism: Paper Space is a run based shooter that lives on a desk. You fly a paper ship down a sheet of lined paper, the cannon fires by itself, and everything you touch is drawn in pen and pencil.

Every run ends. Fuel runs out, the sheet stops, and you go back to the desk to spend what you collected. Then you start again, a little further each time.

Five worlds, five currencies, and ten rules that change how the whole thing works once you unlock them.

Incrementalism is a series. Paper Space is the first one. Pirate Seas is next.
