The collection includes music from Scottside: atmospheric synthwave, character themes and compositions created specifically for the game. It also features songs that many players have come to love including the track from the scene where the protagonist talks about how he met his new friends, as well as songs heard on the radio in other episodes of Scottside.

The album currently includes 17 tracks and will keep growing as future episodes of Scottside are released.

Music has been one of the most important parts of Scottside from the very beginning. To me, it is one of the strongest aspects of the game, largely because several people who genuinely love what they do contributed to its sound.

• The main theme and central leitmotif of Scottside were created by krescentian. This motif returns throughout the game in different forms and variations, appearing across several tracks and connecting different scenes and moments of the story.

A real analog synthesizer was used during the creation of the main theme. The leitmotif itself went through many different versions — we kept returning to it over the course of several months before finally finding the exact sound we wanted for Scottside.

• mikrowolnovkached contributed several tracks that are among the first pieces of music players hear in the game and help establish the musical atmosphere of Scottside from the very beginning. For example, during the tabletop role-playing scene, or when the player chooses which character to walk home with.

• I, the creator of the game, worked on the rest of the soundtrack.

Some tracks even feature vocals recorded by my friends. One example is “Shelter” — the track that plays when the characters first discover an old van in the middle of the forest. Later, this place becomes their small, cozy refuge.

Scottside is an episodic story, so the album is not finished yet. New music, most of which has already been produced, will be added as new episodes are released.
