About This Demo

Overwrite Conflict draws on Tableturf Battle and the board game Blokus for its shape placement gameplay, combining it with deckbuilding, effect synergies, and randomized adventures.

Rotate protocols and fight for every cell

Every protocol has its own shape. Choose its orientation and placement to expand your available space, restrict your opponent, and leave room for future deployments.

You can also build up energy, activate Energy Overload, and overwrite normal cells already occupied by your opponent. Where you place a protocol, and when you use it, will shape the choices that follow.

Combine effects to turn placement into damage

Combine protocols, mech abilities, components, and supplies to raise your tactical score within a limited number of turns. At the end of each round, if your score is higher, the difference becomes damage to the enemy mech.

Use both spatial planning and effect synergies to build up enough damage to destroy the enemy mech.

Choose your route and refine your build

Plan a route through a randomized branching map. Fight battles, encounter events, visit shops, and stop to rest before challenging the chapter boss.

Adapt your tactics to the protocols and components you acquire, while keeping your remaining durability and supplies in mind. Keep fighting, or look for a chance to rest first? Every battle tests the choices you've made along the way.

Find a way out of a city under corporate control

After the Energy War, corporations repurposed the automation and control technologies developed during the arms race for industrial production. Workers still faced dangerous jobs, while corporations found it easier to replace and control them.

Laid off after the war, you now make a living as an independent worker repairing equipment. A worksite incident gets you marked for reclamation by the corporation. You must escape the blockade in a mech and uncover the truth behind the incident.
