Murim Sect Leader is a management roguelite set in a dangerous martial arts world of rival sects, wandering cultivators, ancient techniques, and deadly spirit beasts.

Begin with a small group of disciples and guide your sect from humble beginnings toward becoming a respected force in the Murim. Every cycle forces you to decide where your limited people and resources are needed most.

Build Your Sect

Recruit disciples with different stats, traits, martial affinities. Assign them to sect buildings, prepare them for combat, or send them into the wider world on dangerous missions.

No disciple is perfect. Part of leading a sect is deciding who deserves investment, who works well together, and who should risk their life for the next opportunity.

Discover Martial Arts

Recover martial manuals and unlock new techniques for your sect.

Disciples improve their mastery by using martial arts in battle, allowing their techniques to grow stronger over time. Combine different schools, abilities, traits, equipment, and passive effects to shape each disciple into a martial artist suited to your strategy.

Explore the Murim

Send parties on missions involving:

• Rival martial artists and sects

• Bandits and dangerous cultivators

• Spirit beasts

• Escorts and tournaments

• Ancient ruins and forgotten tombs

• Rare herbs, artifacts, and martial manuals

Missions feature branching decisions and attribute checks. Your choices can change rewards, reputation, injuries, combat conditions, and whether a dangerous situation can be avoided at all.

Sometimes wisdom is the best weapon. Sometimes there is no substitute for drawing steel.

Prepare for Battle

Combat plays out automatically, but victory is decided long before the first strike.

Choose your disciples, martial techniques, equipment, elemental strengths, status effects, and team composition carefully. A well-prepared group can defeat enemies far stronger than themselves, while a poorly prepared expedition may never return.

Forge and Improve Equipment

Craft weapons and equipment from materials gathered during your journey.

Customize equipment with sockets and gems, and equip special trinkets that grant passive abilities capable of changing how a disciple fights.

Every Run Tells a Different Story

Different recruits, missions, manuals, equipment, and rewards mean that each sect develops differently. You unlock additional missions and manuals each successful run.
