About This Game

Emberwall is a top-down roguelite tower defense game focused on path-building, resource management, and powerful tower combinations. Enemies march south from the darkness toward your castle—but their route is yours to reshape.

Place tetromino-shaped wall pieces to redirect enemy waves, split their forces between equal paths, and create strong positions for your defenses. If you completely surround the castle, enemies will find the weakest route and tear through your walls—and any towers built upon them.

Your castle illuminates only a small area of an endlessly expanding, fog-covered map. Build Bonfires to push back the darkness, discover resource deposits, and force enemy spawn points farther north.

Wood and stone deposits block movement and construction. Place Sawmills and Mines on matching deposits to generate resources during enemy waves, then spend those materials on walls, defenses, and expansion.

Build Bow Towers, Cannons, Tesla Coils, Inferno Spires, Mortars, Flamethrowers, Sunbeam Lasers, and Repeating Crossbows. Each defense has its own attack pattern, strengths, weaknesses, and tower-specific upgrades.

Customize targeting priorities to focus on:

• Enemies closest to the castle

• Highest-health enemies

• Lowest-health enemies

• Enemies furthest from the castle

Enhance towers with Splash, Scorch, Hitch, Blitz, or Ice. Combine elements to unlock advanced effects such as Steam, Flash Freeze, Thermal Shock, Backdraft, Electrolysis, Whiteout, and Plasma Link.

Only one base element can be placed on each tower, making every upgrade choice and tower combination matter.

Choose from three upgrade cards after each wave. Improve damage, range, and attack speed, discover tower-specific abilities, strengthen connected walls and production lines, or accept dangerous challenges for greater rewards.

Rare, Epic, and Legendary cards provide increasingly powerful effects, while special upgrades can transform how an entire defense operates.

Later waves introduce faster Runners, armored enemies, powerful elites, and increasingly massive armies. Study the visible enemy routes, reshape the battlefield, and prepare your defenses before the next wave begins.

Gold earned throughout a run contributes to permanent progression. Upgrade your castle, improve resource production, unlock new weapons, and increase their starting power through the Keep and Armory.

Every run uses a different seed, creating a new map, resource layout, wall hand, and sequence of upgrade choices.
