Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Learn more

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I am already happy with the current state of the game and believe it is ready to be played, so I don't want to hold it back unnecessarily.

At the same time, I still have many ideas for features, customization options, and other additions that I would like to explore before I consider Cyan Moon a complete 1.0 release. Early Access gives me the opportunity to continue developing the game while also receiving feedback and ideas from the people actually playing it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“There is currently no fixed timeframe for Early Access.

I would rather base the transition to 1.0 on the state of the game than on an arbitrary deadline. As long as there are substantial ideas that I want to implement, or community feedback that I believe would meaningfully improve the game, I plan to continue developing it in Early Access.

Once I feel that Cyan Moon has reached the scope and level of completeness that I want from a 1.0 release, I will consider Early Access complete.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to expand Cyan Moon with many more customization options, additional features, more distinct ways to play and interact with the simulations, and general improvements throughout the game.

One feature I specifically plan to complete during Early Access is proper support for community-created localizations. I want to build a simple localization pipeline and provide the community with an easy, well-documented format for creating translations that can then be integrated into the game.

This also includes English. The current English localization is AI-generated and is currently the only AI-generated content shipped with the game. Before the full 1.0 release, I want to replace it with a human-created English localization as well, with the goal of having no AI-generated player-facing content remaining in the 1.0 version.

Contributors whose localizations are accepted into the game will be credited on the Steam store page for their work.

Beyond these goals, the exact direction may evolve during Early Access, especially based on what works well in practice and what players enjoy or suggest. I don't want to promise a fixed list of additional future features before I know that they work well with the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version is already fully playable and contains the core systems and features that Cyan Moon is built around.

The game is generally stable, although, as with any actively developed game, bugs and unexpected behavior may still occur. Early Access will primarily be used to expand upon the existing foundation with additional features, customization, content, and improvements.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. I plan to keep the price of Cyan Moon the same during Early Access and after the full 1.0 release.

I also do not plan to discount the game or offer it at a lower price later. I want everyone to pay the same fair price, regardless of whether they support the game during Early Access or discover it years after release.

Players who choose to support Cyan Moon early should never have to feel that they paid more simply because they were there first.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to regularly read discussions, feedback, bug reports, and feature suggestions in the Steam Community Hub.

I will pay particular attention to ideas that receive strong support from other players or that repeatedly come up in discussions. If an idea fits Cyan Moon and I believe it would genuinely improve the game, I may incorporate it into future development.

I also want the community to be directly involved in localizing Cyan Moon. During Early Access, I plan to create a simple and well-documented localization format so that players can translate the game into additional languages and submit those translations for inclusion in the game.

This includes the English localization: I would be very happy to replace the current AI-generated English localization with a community-created, human translation before the 1.0 release.

If a community-created localization is included in Cyan Moon, its contributor or contributors will be credited on the Steam store page.

So if you see an idea you would also like to see in the game, make sure to give it some support! :3”

About This Game

Cyan Moon is a sandbox built around procedurally generated patterns and growth.

Create your own patterns with the extensive settings menu. Want bigger and faster simulations? Just change the corresponding settings and restart the simulation (if needed).
You can make small changes to the simulation parameters and get big changes to the outcome.
The game comes with presets and you can easily save your own custom ones. Share your presets with a Share Code that everyone who has the game can use to import them.
You can save simulations as transparent PNG files to your chosen location.

There is no goal. There is no way to play it correctly. You can only play it your way. And that is the right way.
Play at your own pace and enjoy it.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:
