Why Early Access?

“Spacepawn is being developed by a solo indie developer. I believe that an economy driven game with no set prices, inventory management, and a unique crafting system needs to be balanced and perfected through player feedback. I want to build the game alongside my community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to keep the game in Early Access for about 6 to 12 months, depending on the feedback and ideas I receive from the players.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version, I plan to add a much wider variety of items to craft, new unique alien customer types with their own stories, more random events, UI polish, and Steam Achievements.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core mechanics are fully playable. Players can run their shop, buy and sell items with customers in a dynamic economy, manage their limited inventory space, and use the crafting system to combine items. The game is fully functional from start to a satisfying mid game point.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, I am offering the game at a lower price during Early Access as a thank you to the early supporters. I plan to slightly increase the price upon the full 1.0 release to reflect the new content added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will be highly active on Steam Community Forums. I want to listen to players' ideas for new craftable items, customer events, and balance tweaks, integrating the best ideas directly into the game updates.”

Welcome to Spacepawn, where you manage your own pawn shop in the depths of space! Buy and sell with quirky customers ranging from galactic merchants to cunning scavengers, manage your inventory smartly, and become the richest shop owner in the universe.

  • No Set Prices: There are no price tags in this galaxy! Evaluate the offers brought by your customers and make the most profitable trades. Sometimes you'll get terribly scammed, but don't worry; every bad deal will give you the experience to learn the true market value of that item.

  • Surprising Crafting System: Combine ordinary items or scrap using our unique crafting mechanics. Discover unexpected, one-of-a-kind new items and multiply your shop's worth!

  • Ruthless Inventory Management: Every item you take into your storage takes up space and becomes a burden. Use your limited area wisely, try to get rid of goods quickly, and most importantly... be careful not to accidentally craft something useless!

During the development of Spacepawn, generative AI tools were used to speed up coding, create certain in-game visuals, and assist with localization (translations). As an indie developer, AI was utilized as a support tool to fill expertise gaps in non-programming areas such as art design and translation. All AI-generated content has been carefully reviewed and edited by us to ensure it aligns perfectly with the game's overall vision and integrity.
