How much taxation can the provinces still bear? After disaster strikes, will you keep collecting revenue to sustain the state, or ease the burden to restore population and public support? Will limited resources go to the army, or to local development?

The game features numerous historical events and narrative texts built around the realities of the era. Follow the course of history, and you may experience the events that truly changed the fate of nations. Or use your knowledge of history to prepare before they happen.

Stockpile grain before crisis arrives. Expand your armaments before war begins. Destroy a rising rival before it becomes a great power.

A regime that fell in history does not have to disappear again.

A nation that rose in history may never live to see its age.

Every Country Has Its Own Way to Rule

The game does not force every playable power into the same domestic system with a different coat of paint. Different states share the basic rules required for the world to function, but their political structures, institutional tensions, methods of rule, historical events, and distinctive mechanics are shaped by their own historical backgrounds.

You are managing more than a handful of generic "national stats." Choosing a different country should mean more than changing a flag, a few unit types, and some numerical bonuses. It should mean a different experience of rule.

Govern Every Part of Your Realm

Every region on the map has its own state of development. Population, food, local finances, public support, and available manpower are not different faces of a single number. They are interconnected yet distinct foundations of the state. Build up local areas, restore production, and adjust fiscal investment to develop multiple regions at the same time.

Your Bloodline Must Endure

You must govern not only the state, but also the future of your dynasty and family. Manage the inner court, arrange marriages, have and raise heirs, and navigate the relationships among consorts, princes, princesses, and the wider royal clan as you choose the future successor to the realm.

War requires manpower, equipment, reliable supplies, and sound strategy. Supply lines are a core part of warfare, making stable logistics one of the decisive factors between victory and defeat.

Trade Connects the Global Map

No single land can possess every resource the world has to offer.

Through ports and trade routes, you can establish long-term commercial ties with other powers and obtain goods, resources, and military supplies that your homeland cannot reliably produce.

War is not the only way to secure resources. Trade can also build wealth and national strength over time.

The game provides a complete global strategic space. Mandate 1600: The East · Steam Store Localization Wars in East Asia, changes on the steppe, trade across the Indian Ocean, ports in Southeast Asia, conflicts on the European continent, and colonies, overseas outposts, tributary or dependent powers, and complex political relationships across the world all exist within the same simulation.

Other countries are not static scenery at the edge of the map. They develop, trade, conduct diplomacy, and wage war under the same world rules.

You can focus on your traditional sphere of influence, build an ocean-spanning trade network, or cross continents and seas to conquer lands your nation never reached in history. Will you preserve a dynasty already on the verge of collapse, or overturn the outcome of a battle history says was lost?

Will you keep a small state alive between great powers, or build a trade empire stretching across continents?

The Mandate 1600 Series

Mandate 1600: The East is the first official title in the Mandate 1600 series.
The game will focus primarily on Ming China, Japan, and the Korean Peninsula, with at least Ming China and Japan available as playable powers.
More playable countries and factions will continue to be added through future updates.
